Hey guys,

I have two questions

I am about to treat some light surface rust on the underbody of my car. Once the rust is removed what is the best type of paint to use to cover up and prevent future rust.

Does it matter or will cheap matt black paint from supercheap do the job.

Also, I have noticed a few very small chips on my rear quarter pannel which have rust. What is the best sand paler to use to remove it, or what grit should I ask.

The chips are very small, probably 1mm or 2mm.

Cheers

Ross

use a rubber based underbody sealant, are you intending to respray the paint chips after you rub them back?if so then i would look at using maybe 600 grit wet n dry sandpaper

Ok.

Rust is gone, I then appliedsome of the rubber based sealer, due to the difficult angles, some parts got areally thick coat. Not too fussed in terms of looks.

More concerned if I should worry about stuff beingtrapped in that coat giving rise to future rust? The back of the can mentioned(DO NOT apply thick coats)

Or am I just being paranoid
