Just leave it in there? Never know when you might need it :)

The best way to make it removeable would be to drill two holes in the place where you want it and get some of those cool nuts you can pop rivet in (or weld in) so then you don't have to worry about getting on the back of it to hold the nut.

Keep in mind that when you're doing this, the bracket needs to be metal and it needs to be able to withstand a force of 25Gs which you'd achieve in a small crash.

Random question, what car is this going into? Lots of different places to mount them in different cars, which I guess would then lead on to different mounting techniques. Make sure it's really solidly mounted, as otherwise you're just adding a projectile/object to get caught under your brake pedal.

I ended up leaving mine in the R33 as I literally forget it's there, and you can hardly see it. Also, as zoid says, you never know when it may come in handy :)

Remember that if you're at an event you want it within reach of the driver with your seatbelt on, in case your car decides combusting is high on it's to do list ;)

Veeto put his on the trans tunnel on the passenger side, still within reach but it's not getting in anyones way :)

Mine is infront of the drivers seat, never gets in the way, just good to know it's there, also handy if you've got a banging stezza, never know when that amp is going to catch fire, it happened to a Finny! There are pics on here somewhere.

Some people use the front mounting bolts for the passenger seat to secure a bracket. TBH I leave mine in all the time... I have nightmares about watching one of my cars burn and not being able to do anything about it. Mine are behind my seat.

Mine is mounted in the same place, perfect position in an R33. If you're in the south give me a yell and I'll show you how un-annoying/unseen it is :)

You could run into an issue if you're a midget as the seat will only go 80-90% of the way forward, but even when the wife drives it's fine, and if you want that extra movement you can just leave the bracket there and take out the actual fire extinguisher.
