C210 Carbon Guage Pod Upgrade

As the car is currently gutted and getting suspension and rust work done to it I thought I'd have a crack at modernizing the interior. I plan to go with a mix of black leather ans suede with some carbon trim pieces. May Not everyone's cup of tea but I like it.

Now getting real carbon replacement pieces was gonna be near impossible but this new 3M 1080 Carbon is damn near to real thing in terms of looks. so I pulled apart the gauses and set out to replace the brown trip with carbon. Total job time about 2.5 hours.

I was gonna change the colour of the bulbs too and swap them out with LED but seeing the orange covers on them I thought I might as well leave it

Lay over the carbon

Heat it up with a hair dryer and push down the edges to make the crease

Take a sharp knife and cup it out. Remember to pull out all the coloured plastics too as you dont want the scratch these with the knife. Take your time and be careful not the snag the plastic with the knife.
