I believe stock ground clearance for a 34R is 130mm.

With my r34 vspec 2, the front lip was 150mm stock and the rear diffuser was 140mm stock. I dropped the whole car to 100mm. I had to remove the middle muffler and replace it with straight pipe to keep clearance. Got pulled over every weekend for 6 months straight at the gold coast and never got defected for height.

So what exactly do the cops check when it comes to ride height

Is it just front lip and rear or everything , eg exhaust ? i cant see to many cars passing with fat zorsts

As per the post above you, anything at or below 100mm including lips, skirts, exhausts.

So if you want to run risks & as you get pulled over, stop with your front wheels on da speed hump

also, it has to be 100mm or above fully loaded..eg 4 people in the car and a boot load of crap
