The issue with setups like that is it is nothing nothing, wheelspin! So you never really get a good shove in the set unless you have awesome tyres.

Almost like that. There is a spot where it has about 5 to 10 psi and it goes pretty good there too without spinning the wheels. Also it is reasonably easy to control the boost with the throttle. But a good set of tyres is definitely need past 200 rwkw.

I have an auto, so will be sluggish off the line until 4k then it will be on like donkey kong lol

I reckon you get the best of both worlds. Good fuel economy cos its not too often that it is at 25 psi or so and good power when it is.

So how many rwkw is 5.07 volts on a z32 afm approximately? I heard they max out at 360rwkw. I'll know soon anyway after it gets on the dyno.

Don't believe in warming it up first? :P

Lol it got a bit of a warm up. It was 68 degrees. I was waiting for someone to spot that. biggrin.gif

How did it go compared to your car? You have 260 rwkw don't you?I have read quite a few different things about the max power the z32 afm can handle. Now it has me wondering how much mine has got. blink.gif

Yeh I've got 260 currently, I'm sure yours would smoke mine man, though my semi's may give me a leg up :P

Did you clip the limiter? Knock seems a little high as well

I think it may have just touched the limiter. EDIT: I thought I set it to 8500 but it might have been 8200. The knock is usually under 15. But then the revs are usually under 7600 too.

This particular time it revved to 8183 rpm.

hi mate, could you please tell me how you installed the shift light? i have one at home that is the same an sick of having it lying around lol

Mate it is an ordinary tacho install. Signal wire, 12v, earth and lights. You adjust the shift light by pressing and holding the button.I did a youtube video on how to do this. Look for my videos at Iamroom42 on youtube.

Here is a look at my hand controller. Its a stock internal rb25det hitting almost 8200 rpm at about 26 to 28 psi through a gt35r. I raised the rev limit to 8500.

So what does this prove exactly apart from that it can be done? Given the last 2 pages basically have nothing to do with the question.

End of the day you push the stock bottom end power/RPM wise - it is a matter of time before it fails. Just because yours is fine at the moment is no testament to anything in the reliability stakes yet.

Do that consistently, for 3+ years and 40,000kms, with more than 4-5 motors - then call it reliable all you want.

Set rev limiter just above peak power/torque. with stock engine + turbo + power FC this was below 7000rpm for me. no point reving the engine to 9000rpm if it stops making power at 6000rpm

Sums it up perfectly.
