Side Pipes?

Hey every one ive got a c210 coupe and im making (currently) a exhaust system 4 the car,

Ive always wanted a side pipe.... any one know if they are legal/illleagal in tassie?

P.S its just a week end cruser/ fun car

has to be more than 30cm from nearest opening. ie door jam/window. behind front axle and be legal sound limmit.

Yeah, they are legal, just have to meet ADR requirements...

As said have to be legal noise & generally sit rather low, requiring the body to be rather high so aren't worth it

Other thing I have questioned is backseats. Heard rumours concerning side pipes and fumes for back seat passengers???

Hence why it "has to be more than 30cm from nearest opening. " eg 30cm behind the last window.

my old sprinter came with a side pipe was not legal at all ( it was about halfway down the passengers door & was a 3" straight pipe so was loud as hell ) & i had no trouble at all with police or anything ( just getting into driveways sucked )
