which r33?

a non turbo is pretty good i guess on maintence and fuel....

a turbo can chew petrol if you get it on boost alot and can cost a bit more to maintain

a modified turbo can put a deep hole in your wallet for fuel and maint

also depends on how you look after it as with any car

My R33 GTS-t gets around 450-500 km off 50L (that's all i can get in the sucker, unless the fuel light comes on with 15L to spare :D) So that aint too bad, depends how u drive it and where. This is coming from 750km off 55L so there is a substantial difference, but the fun is worth the extra :)

My approx running costs are:

Fuel = $50/wk

Oil = $3.5/wk

Oil Filter = $0.50/wk

Fuel Filter = $0.50/wk

= $54.50/wk

Many people say that Skylines have high running costs, the only big difference I see is the weekly fuel costs (98 octane vs 96 octane = $5/wk) and also they are more thirsty compared to an average car (such as VS Commodore or a Honda Accord).

The single biggest cost is the 'mod bug' (that is when you can't stop yourself modding the car). You can easily waste $1000/mth for 12mths and still not even be half done. If I did it all over again I'd just buy it... drive it to the ground and then upgrade to an R34 GT-T or an R33 GTR and 'then' waste some mulla on it :D

Thanks for all the feed back guys. How about spare parts are they expensive? I use to drive a Honda and parts were not that cheap. Servicing was around $250 for normal and for major around $800+.

I've got a motorcycle predator so I use that for fun but I also want a car that can be used for fun and a daily driver.

I'll post up the Driver magazine (japan) figures later, if I remember. IIRC, the r33 GTS-T managed to get worse fuel figures than the GTR!

My r33 (rb20e) daily 'beater' is pretty horrid on fuel (for what it is) - I've always thought of it as too little power pushing too big a car though

yar, fuel costs are probably a bit high (i find i return teh same milage regardless of how i drive, only getting better milage if i throw a highway run in there)

probaby about 350ks a tank

i get my car serviced regularly which costs 100 bux every 5000ks or so (yay for nissan servicing)

apart from that, my liner hasnt cost me anything in breakdowns or new parts (a new clutch ages ago, was only 450)

oh , insurance and rego and what not, but i dont even notice those costs;

hondas are more expenisinve imo, especially if you take it to a honda dealership to get serviced.. the good thing about skylines is the community - everyone is willing to help out - alot of the people with them on here know the basics about cars and can service their own, and know what it should / shouldn't cost

servicing won't be as expensive as your honda
