What Does This Knob Do?

Hi guys,

Could you please tell me what this knob does. (see Pic).

Its the variable knob on the left side, with the incremental dots. I thought it might of been a dimmer for the dash, but it doesn't seem to do anything?

Adjusts the speed of your intermittent wipers. ie, the time between each wipe. (short for faster, long for slower).
