You guys can keep your fancy lambo's and GTRs

I'll go for the old bigger is better thing

that is amazing! i grew up around muscle cars so i appreciate them more than a clean gtr! it sounds like pure evil & i luv it!!!

Lol

I was talking to a couple of the nsw guys about a 67 mustang that was lapping QR 1 sec faster than 700 alleged hp supras and 500hp gtrs

The mustang had about 450 crank hp a 4 speed box leaf springs and small brakes

the other guys obviously couldnt drive - this will put it into perspective for you...the legendary brock a9x torana versus a stock vx commodore (1 day i'll get an a9x, in memory of my dad):

All it puts into perspective is how futile it is to compare a race car and a street car.

The ax9 is on wider slicks, more power & lighter than the VX and is still about 3 seconds behind after a 10 second delay @ the start line. If anything it's a testament to the VX to actually still be in front!

+ the 30 yr gap in development, hence the comparison of a 67 mustang with a 90s vehicle (30 yr gap).

assuming the mustang & supra's are highly modified street cars & pulling similar lap times (1 sec out); whereas brocks a9x is really not much quicker than todays street car (7sec on a lap) - maybe my maths is not that good, ive become too reliant on pc's

Purpose built (to class), stripped race car on slicks vs mass produced, full weight street car on street tyres

It'd still take the Lambo any day of the week, regardless of "lap times", development or price tag.

u would have to be silly NOT to take the lambo...sell that & you can get an r35, superbike, boat, supercart & more

I'd take the Lambo over the GTR every time.

But, for all the guys saying they hate the R35 and that it's boring and uninvolving, have you ever been taken for a ride in one or driven one? Obviously not everyone is going to like it enough to want to buy one, but there is no way anyone can walk away from a drive in a R35 without having been impressed by the car's ability. If nothing else, the car's ability to stop and go around corners will leave a lasting impression and a certain amount of respect for what the car can do.

none of us haters ever said that it was slow. that would be naive. our general point is that we don't like it, no matter how fast it is.

No one is saying you have to like it and I never mentioned peoples' claims the car is slow, I focused on the claims the car is boring and uninvolving. For people to claim it is boring and uninvolving, well they can only make that claim if they have been in one. Otherwise how would they know?

Good point - we need the opinion of somebody who actually owns an r35 and takes it on drive days and has 1st hand experience driving the thing.

The guys that I know swear by the r35 (autostyle owners and my mate who bought the bsm r32 gtr).

If anything, autostyle is the best example, if u think not...take a look at his website and have a look at the cars he stocks, also raced in targa and many other events

Haha reading this entire thread was worth it just to see that last post by Marko R1 haha

I own a GTR (33) yes probably the softest GTR model and all things considered it has its great aspects and bloody horrible ones like any other car. Lets just all admit to wanting an original 1969 KPGC10 GTR

Every one is forgetting What Brian Spilner finally realised in the fifth movie... If you going to have a shot at taking down this guy..... You would need one of these.....

Jimmy Richards' Javelin should be done by now, will run in the muscle car masters instead of his Falcon Sprint

And Marko, Anything MOPAR is worth a fortune in the states now...have been for around 5 years
