Didn't pick up on the bonnet :\ Don't think it looks too bad though ...

But yeah.. +1 to bells ringing.

Eh, just want to make sure it's worth what i pay. I'm happy buying a crappier car, I'm pretty handy with fixing things and can get parts cheap

86,000kms my arse

Have a look how worn the interior is. I'd say it was probably 186,000 and wound back heavily.

You'd spend $500 on pre-inspections (body/panels & motor) only to find out it's probably fked. 12k gets you a car that needs 10k of work to get to something you'd buy for 18-20k

I actually bought a car from them years ago, an R32 gts4. I recognised the backyard lol. Not sure if its him or the brother, but yeh they used to import them in and sell them from the old Performance Jap in Campbellfield. I didnt have any issues with the car, but that was about 5 years ago.

Indeed. I would steer clear of this. Who wants a clapped out 32 GTR anyway... pfft. You would end up spending twice the asking price on fixing shit. Save yourself the money and get something better.

Maybe its 12K because everyone is put off by his backyard. Dont judge the book by its cover, for all we know, it could be a good car.

Go over there, check it out and bring some experts with you that know what to look for. One way to really find out. After all, you are not buying the backyard!

Jesus, is that where imports go to die? Look at all that shit in the background!

First thing I picked was the GTS bonnet - very sus. No fekin' way I'd touch it, at least without not having had the chance to spend two hours going over it.

That said, if you decide you are hell bent on it, I'll go take a look for you.

It would have to have been in an accident for it too have the gts-t bonnet

But when you put a GTR bonnet on a gts-t don't you need to change the bonnet hinges?

If so you be yo for a bit to buy fit and paint the correct bonnet

This, go look at the car if you're interested. I don't doubt it's a pile of crap going by the price alone, but I also doubt the psychic abilities of SAU members to use pictures and read deep into the psychology of the nuff who took them. In the end, if it drives good, checks out mechanically/electrically/VIN and is priced at what you're willing to spend - who cares if the guy didn't pose it in an empty car park or against a graffiti wall?

lol find me an import that hasn't been in an accident. These cars are worth 1/3 of their RRP 3 years after being sold for new...and 90% of them are treated as such.

That's true, 3 out of the 4 imports I've had, have had some form of accident one was really big, regardless of wheel alignments and balances, it never drove perfectly straight

I'd just be concerned about that GTR cause is been repaired cheaply if they couldn't even get the correct bonnet

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
