At a guess $500 at a minimum for shipping. So I could just assume $3500 aud to send it, have it done and send it back.

I didn't really want to pay that much but it's an option if I can't find anything closer.

Why fkn bother when a 200000km 15+year old RB25DET unopen engine can make over 300rwkw and last.. do what everyone else has said and buy a second hand engine replace the timing belt and water pump (100K service) and drop it in. you will have no problems making 240kw for years and most likely blow the turbo before the engine oh not to mention save alot of MONEY!

If you MUST rebuild so you know its like new i would recommend ERD (Elite Racing Developments)

$3500 nzd approx for rips to do it. Plus shipping both ways.

That isn't actually that bad. Most people pay that locally for some hack workshop to do it. Why don't you try ERD or all of the other local ones first?

Or why don't you just buy a neo off here? They come up for sale fairly often if you search every week.

jet r31 can you please pm me some contact details please.

il go to nissan about an oil pump and a set of pistons tomorrow.

il give spot on performance a call tommorow, thanks for the info booztjunkey

Don't buy anything unless you speak to a builder, they will have all their own preferred parts.

Why not just get RIPS to send over a RB30 short motor? Prep your existing head to suit, modify piping and get it engineered.

That is way out of his budget.

Steven you should get a quote from CRD in Brisbane and Paul at Red-R Racing in Newcastle. Tell them to beat RIPS price and go with it.

I had Boostworx here in Adelaide rebuild my Stagea S1 Rb25 for $4200 including forged CP pistons, complete block prep and head clean up.

That was a Tow-in and drive out price, including the dynotune in a months time once Ive reached the 1000km running in mark. They outsourced machining but performed the complete assembly, including engine out/in.

The rebuilt forged bottom end is driving very nicely indeed; only minor issue I have is the fog lights & audio amplifier arnt working but I know they'll fix that up for me considering they were working pre-rebuild.

Once rebuilt find a Good workshop for tuning for a safe & mild tune and stick with them.

Personally Id be leaning towards a budget rebuild but including forged pistons over a used secondhand block, and I wouldnt be going for new genuine pistons when the CP's are cheap brand new on ebay currently. But thats just my opinion.

He needs a need AWD neo for a stagea and they don't come up every day.

That is way out of his budget.

NZD$4250 with adapter and pickup is way out of his budget?? Really??

ok there is lots of responses on here il try to do them in order.

r33 eddy - im avoiding using erd (had a great experience with him and a less satisfying experience), but they out source their machining as far as i know or atleast thats what i read on here.

wolverine - i did consider the rb30 and i talked to rips about it but just isnt what i am after. i want to try to keep my vct. if i could keep the vct i probably would have got one already.

rolls - il definately discuss my options with a machinist before purchasing anything.

tangles - crd is in silverwater nsw, im guessing you miss typed erd, as above not wanting to use them. i was looking at cp pistons because i assumed they would be a cheapish opton. im really only looking to do a refresh with new pistons/rings, oil pump and bearings anyway.

dvs - is it an awd block?

wolverine - as above is a good option just no vct opton so :(

If you use your neo VCT head prepped to suit an RB30 on the relatively low comp RIPS standard bottom end how will you lose VCT? The smaller chamber volume of the neo head will bump up the compression nicely and it will work just the way it does now except with more grunt down low.
