Its good to know its possible to do the seal without pulling the pump off. Just a thought. If my front seal is leaking does that mean I need a new timing belt because it will be stuffed?

If you used a fresh timing belt, you don't need a new one. You've done less than 250km on that belt, waste of money changing it. Its not like you change your pulley belts everytime you take one off to get to something else.

Mmmm I don't think car oil has the properties to ruin a timing belt... Its made of material much MUCH tougher than rubber and oil doesn't eat rubber. It should be fine. Someone should confirm this, I don't want to be wrong and then the belt breaks..

just to throw it out there - You really don't want a slippery belt on there.

And you must choose your cleaning solution wisely - or the belt WILL deteriorate..

Good to know this stuff. It seems logical to replace a $100 belt than risk a 5k engine.

The leak is very minimal, like there isn't a difference on the dipstick. Just a few drops on the floor. It didn't have leaks hen I did the oil change, but in the next 15km it started to leak :/

It's not the front seal. It looks like its coming from up higher. I can't see where but yeah. Maybe the oil pump bolts aren't tight enough? Is there actually much pressure behind the oil pump? There isn't a single spec of oil vapor in my breathers.

Whos the new workshop to blame now?

Was efi to start with now who?

Name and shame your wonderfull work

What's it to you man? Why is it so important to you that every time something goes wrong with Steven's build, you are there to rub it in his face?

Why is anyone to blame at all. It's an oil leak. And I do still have negative things to say about 2 businesses at yatala, I just know its not worth worrying about it anymore. Proving their lack of quality work won't fix the problems or put the money back in my pocket.

I was actually wondering when you would be back.
