Hi guys, I have searched and googleed and asked around the various car/electronics people I know and I cant realy get a deffinative answer so I'm hoping someone on here can help me.

I've swaped and M35 steering wheel into my C34. the plugs and wire colours are different.

I have swaped the plug over and have been assured by a very sucessfull auto electrician that the polarity of the wiring to the airbag is not important. This makes sense to me as all the car is looking for is the correct resistance?

HOWEVER it has been suggested that the C34 computer may not like the new airbag and BANG!!! as soon as i plug the battery in. As i would rather not waste several hundred dollars worth of airbag I'd like to have a better idea of what might go wrong before i plug the airbag in.

Thanks for any help.

Tom

if the airbag deploys youll have to clean up the mess too.

from memory people have pt S15 steering wheels into S14s without problems, but they are almost the same car.

i rekon just try it. thats the only way youll find out.

Is it worth checking the resistance of the two airbag modules and seeing if there's a difference?

If the NM35 airbag presents the same elecrtrical values as the C34 one; I can't see the Airbag module knowing the difference.

Either that; or put in the earplugs and pinch.gif!

As an aside; it's easily the nicest factory wheel I've laid hands on in quite a while, not quite as nice as my MOMO Tuner, but very close. Man I love that wheel...

Yeah i have considered trying the bang test but i'm not keen on 1. the waste of money 2. the mess all through my car.

Considering making up an extension lead of sorts so i can plug it in outside the car. Also now that i have thought about it a bit more testing the resistance matches an older air bag will probably do.
