Its called a sidewall, smart people get tyres to suit the driving conditions, they look good for the street where pot holes and rough roads will make having lower profile tyres a PITA, me, I wont go any lower than 40 series even on a 265 for the street or the track. currently running 245/45 17 on the street myself and they are awesome on the road and good enough to do 12.2 at the drags.

Whilst I do admit low profile tyres can look good they are a PITA unless you always drive on fresh smooth blacktop, or if you dont mind the harsh ride and damaged rims.

I agree hank , shouldve gone 235 haha. I suppose at some point you have to choose whether you want looks or handling,

there cant really be both to a certain extent. As long as i can make it look tough im happy.

But 235/40 and 265/35 have the same height sidewall...

I stand corrected, I still like more side wall though, 93mm for the 265/35 or 106mm for the 265/40, I would go the 40 as a minimum. As for 235/35 at 82mm or 235/40 at 94 mm, for the street that extra 12mm comes in handy

But yes, IM WRONG, sorry for causing any missinformation.

:domokun:

Alrighty got rear guards rolled today and rims and tyres are now on. The look is growing on me, its more of a tough race sorta look which i

do not mind at all. I had a look at the coilovers while i had the wheels off and they rears were already wound all the way down and i only had

about an inch to play with at the front. Teins and there poor adjustability :glare:. Lowered the front slightly and it doesnt sit too bad. Once i get

the camber and everything done it should look sick. No problems at all fitting the rears inside the guard, seems to be enough room. I havent

gona around any corners or anything fast yet so i shall find out maybe tommorrow. Ill also get photos up tommorrow for those who would like

to have a look.
