blow by, but it depends on how bad it is.

Doing it at idle isn't good, but if you rev it you'll always get some oil spitting out.

Its the same if you take your filler cap off, do it on a healthy car and then do it on yours, use a cover rag so you don't end up with a mess - check the difference. If its a lot then you probably have worn rings etc.

Do a comp test then.......
