noone said an R32 GTR was better your delusional mate im saying for bang for buck you will get loads more power in the rb26 bore it out to a 3 litre and forge the f**k out of it and boost the f*k out of it, here comes over 500kw at the wheels for under 50k, and lets not forget how fun they are to drive the r35 is practically an auto.

Miles Tauber in his R35 GTR did it in 2:15:07. what was the mod list on his car, just curiosty

Offcourse the alpha 12 would smash the winfield gtr im sure there are many other modified Rbs that would smash the winfield also

DOnt get me wrong i love the R35 its a f*kn beast id take that over any other supercar and thats a promise...can you tell me what 5k would make 296kw to 420kw at wheels?

Just to correct you: doing some research On the bathurst track i seen that 2:12min was the record for a R32 GTR back in 91/92:

A stock R35 gtr did it in around 2:25

I dont want to debate but 10k on a rb26 will get you 400+ kw, may snap a diff or something but still over 400kw ;P

its

And by the time im finished with my 94#32GTR will have a complete internal, interior and external make over and will look and go like a f*kn mania thats all i can say. And even though its will cost some money still will beat many R35's and for the less total amount for car and mods. When i picked my R32 i made sure it was Immaculate which is why i spent 27k on it 70,000 real kms back in august 2006. All it had was an exhaust from the cat back and it made 203kw at the wheels. Pretty good bargain if you ask me . It soon will be a classic supercar and if i keep it in the condition its in and keep it for a while with every mod receipt it might be worth a nice ammount later on. But i dont look at it as money its my hobbie. One day ill take the GTR beyond 2013. And both will be my toys im a GTR fanatic

Catless downpipes, midpipe, cold air intakes, 950cc injectors, HKS fuel pumps, turbo inlet pipes, retune, E85. Theres 420kw at the wheels. And you can still get the groceries, pick the kids up from school and drive past the cops without a second glance. Actually I added up those mods and I only paid $4000.

I think Miles's mod list is as above without the turbo inlet pipes. So very basic mods. His car was in Wheels mag or some other mag like that and it was under 400kw at the wheels. Very dyno dependant so not a fair comparison in reality.

but your not talking about labour work? and btw does the r35 take e85 without mods? my car price list was roughly 5k its the labour and stuff that made thr price jump. cops have pulled me over opened the bonnet and closed it with out a word , im not talking about 4 seater and boot space aswell. all gtrs have thatt

fair comparison and 3 seconds slower then the 91/92 GTR... but could be the driver that maybe make that time quicker

R35 = quick Space ship

R32 = Fast classic

My goal is 450kw 4 seaters, Sound system , Interior makeover, Boot space, And 10 inch fat deep dished rims. Slim Sleek and i promise you the cops will open the bonnet and have noting to say.

450kw is enough for me and it wont be on E85. And it will be a sleeper

if you're going to buy an R34 to keep as a collectable, there's only one........Z Tune

2) V-Spec N1

3) V-Spec II N1

Lumleys SV and Shannon's will insure the above for Sums Insured at well over $105K (and unmodified obviously).

Time & Auction results will tell us if others appear on the radar!

IMO the engine/tranny is the best feature of the GTR, loads of fun in manual mode!

Have you driven an R35?

What i would do is buy an 09 model and get the internal tune specs and xterior front lights to match the 2012 model. Samething at the end

Only diff is the chassis is older and maybe has higher kms.. thats ok with me as i look after my cars like they are my mother.

No but i wouldnt doubt it would be fun, But ive seen an amuture female driver jump in an r35 and do high 11sec 1/4 me just shows how easy it it to drive

Not sure what "female" has to do with it and since when does straight line performance define how easy a car is to drive?

This female comment reminds me of when paul diemar was racing twoogle, his wife stacey set the fastest 60 foot time which he could never match...I think it was 1.3sec - it was out of this world

Well if we work out how much $600k in 1992 would be worth today (i would say probably $1.2 to $2m in todays dollars) whatever Miles has spent doesn't touch the sides in comparison. Tobacco sponsorship was good! :)

I say get the GT-R, forget the Camaro they sell them for nothing in the states and then they come here and RAPE people on taxes and conversion. Honestly with the way they tax imports it's RAPE, legal RAPE. Add insult to injury that the Camaro was in fact built by Aussies and we have to pay a fortune to even get in one. All of this to save the stupid domestics which no one wants, if german and other imports were cheap honestly Holden and Ford Australia would DIE. They just can't compete so they put these stupid taxes which most of the world doesn't have to save them at the expense of our pockets and options.

    • Getting a decent signal from all 6 throats is a challenge. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the stock balance tube is not ideal for it. I have done it on an ALFA 4 cylinder (about 35 years ago, so don't ask for too many details). We drilled 4x holes in the manifold runners, put in some fittings and ran hoses to a decent sized (I think it was about 20mm diameter) pipe that ran the length of the inlet manifold. So, it was quite a decent volume. There is a "tuning" balance to be found between the volume of the common plenum on such a thing and the diameter of the pipes running from it to the runners. You need the volume to be large enough to damp out the sharp spikes in pressure signal you get as each runner gets sucked on by its cylinder, but not so large that it becomes too slow to respond to actual changes in MAP. And you need the hoses to be small enough to transmit the signal quickly, but not so small that they delay the signal. You might have to have more than one go at it, if there isn't any actual success based wisdom to be had here. Hopefully there is. Anyway, I would not do it on only a couple of cylinders. I would also not care about "permanently modifying a part". Just bloody drill holes and make stuff better. There is nothing sacred about any GTR unless it is a genuine museum piece that you shouldn't be modifying at all anyway.
    • He's still joining you, he's just delayed it and won't have the fulleh sick ITBs...
    • The strange thing is this is a URAS front bumper (or clone of it). The bumper actually does not sit flush with the GTT hood - You need the addon to make the hood 'long' enough to reach the bumper. I have no idea why they didn't incorporate this piece into the bumper itself.. instead of sticking it to the hood instead.
    • Another thought on this OLD topic: When you paint your bonnet lip, leave a small unpainted back lip/line along the back of the lip, where it rests on the bumper. That way, the line in the back is much more prominent than the gaps in the front/under the lip - and it breaks the hood-to-bumper connection at the "correct" place, when comparing to a GTR. I'm gonna do this with mine this week, so stay tuned for pics!
    • So I'm in the final stages of assembling my single turbo RB30/26 and had a question regarding MAP reference points.  I've seen several recommendations such as tapping the cylinder 2/3 ITB, tapping the intake manifold at cylinder 2/3, or using a point on IAC. First two are doable but require permanently modify part and the third is "out" as I plan to delete the IAC.  All that to say my question is can I used the "bleeder" in the center of the ballance tube as a MAP Reference? I'm running a catch can so I don't need it for the PCV system. My thought process is it "pulls" from all 6 cylinder, and it's between the ITB and the cylinders making it ideal for MAP reference according to what I can find. Thoughts?
