Don't see that as a particular worry. Rare models = owners are scared to bend them. Plus it's not that fast from what I've heard around the traps and in a different class.

Still if it's not legal - someone will lodge a complaint and rightly so. For now - that is of no concern really.

The more looking entries, the more interesting it is numbers wise.

A stock stroke EVO is U-3500cc class even with a 1.7x multi ... So they should essentially EVO-Oz would've (IMO) been a 1st/2nd U-3500cc in Motorkhana/Lap sprints & T/A.

However as one of the EVO-Oz entries is 2.3ltr stroker, it's up against O-3500cc which makes it quite a challenge, especially depending on who comes outta the woodwork for SAU as there are some big cars/stroker GTRs out there, just depends on street rego etc.

So in effect i reckon they've put their big points haul at quite a risk if the 2.3ltr car comes 4th as opposed 1st in U-3500cc if it were U-3500 :)

Also, can I ask why myself and a few others got a pm from xFarce/Exceedy with a link to enter?

Did anyone enter? Isnt SAU suppose to nominate the team as there is only limited spots per Forum?

Or can just anyone enter willy nilly?

No-one can enter willy-nilly from SAU. SAU Entries will go in together, once decided upon (prob mid/late Jan). Talking with C atm about it all, will know and have info in a few days & email will go out to all users.

As i suspected there are Updated Regs coming (according to the FB/website), so waiting for those to come out with be a good idea as i there might be a bit of tightening in a few areas.

Le sigh... Come on man... When it was being raced by pro drivers, on slicks, going 11/10ths in National Competition

Not an Internet forum battle...

It'll be a good 3 days of competition no doubt, but more importantly a bucket load of fun to be at such an event and getting involved. I reckon it's a great idea, and if it were yearly... Even more awesome!

I know a lot of other people from the other forums, so it'll be a great event to catch up, give eat other a bit of shit & converse with new people and see some great cars in action :D

I'll agree with you when there are concrete rules regarding what can/can't be done.

From where I'm sitting it is a shamozzle and geared purely to let EVO's be the only competitive cars

the 3500cc rule makes anything but RB20's ineligible

same with Supra's, 2.5L WRX's, Commodores, Falcons, Porshes

Street rego/Street legal but there are GT2 cars entered

I'm sure the event will be great for spectators and I will try and make it down to watch but is a massive head f**k for anyone trying to enter

Would there be any suspicion in there that they have made the regs rubbery so as to change them at will as needed.

Like this...

"

2) The event is designed for entry by performance and high performance vehicles. There will be 2 classes each with sub classes of fastest FWD, RWD and 4WD vehiclesa) Pro class- for both street registered and none street registered cars. Engines and gearbox's are free. Suspension pick up points must be in as per the manufactures design. Slicks are not permitted.

b) Street Class- for street registered cars only. The vehicle must retain the original engine and gearbox configuration. Suspension pick up points must be in as per the manufactures design. Street legal tyres are only permitted.

"

and

"

4) Vehicles used must be driven by the owner of that vehicle or a person duly authorised by the owner, at the discretion of the promoter

"

All of this aside, going to mad seeing the variety beat around.

Well that page has certainly changed compared to what I read 2 weeks ago :teehee:

Seems there is now Pro Class, no rego required. That just opened up the bag of worms.

AND it is no longer owner-driver.

Point scoring has also changed...

The email of questions I'm gonna send has just increased

Think I'm gonna need a 6-pack and a spare 6hrs on Sat just to work this out.

Yes yes indeed, and effectively - paid drivers.

If I'm reading it right though it's still 2 entries across the board, not per class.

Obviously it become highly strategic now with the choices that need to be made

I think the key word there is "at the discretion of the promoter"

so if someone paid $$$ to get say Jenson Button to drive their car....can the "promoter" turn around halfway through and say he/she isnt allowed to drive anymore?

You guys are on the ball.. We only posted new sup regs 2 hours ago. Hoping this clears up the confusion from the last sup regs.

I saw some seriously quick cars at SAU Nationals keen to see you guys out on the track again

a) Pro class- for both street registered and none street registered cars. Engines and gearbox’s are free.

Both Pro and Street Class will then comprise of 3 sub classes; Fastest FWD, RWD and 4WD vehicles

It's Xmas - what else am I gonna do @ work for 8hrs during this period but hit F5 on websites? :whistling:

If you reckon the cars @ SAU Nats were fast, with the much "wider" regulations that now exist, that makes for some pretty ridiculous out & out race cars to come along.

Back to the drawing board for potential SAU entries when you have guys like High Octane, Mercury, GT Auto & Willall all playing mad power R35 GTRs (yes i realise some are KO'd due to suspension points)
