Stupid clutch fan is trying to keep up with my engine rpm. Its the second one I've put on my car since I bought it 2 months ago... Sounds like crap and takes power away from the engine.

Only happens once engine is warm and on warmer days.

get new clutch fan

I know i need a new one, I was just venting lol. I have the worst luck with them, I reckon I have bought maybe 4-5 over the years on many various cars...

My R34 used to do that too on warmer days - 40+C - but I'm guessing it was to keep the car cool..

Chuck consult on there and make sure your coolant temperatures are still good. Mine were hitting 100+ - turned out my thermostat was toast. You cannot trust the factory gauge, on mine it was still displaying the regular 'half way' when at 100+C.

properly installed thermos are the way to go. pull type, sealed and shrouded, on with ignition and you will never have a problem. plus youll gain a bit of response due to drag of the fan on your crank.

most people wont bother with the hassle of hooking it all up and making it work on a street/daily but its a great upgrade out on track!

I had x2 davies craig fans on my seven, push and pull setup, worked great but 4-500 bucks worth from memory. I got a feeling JRM might be onto something there and my car is running hotter than my guage says, need to suss out my cooling system before making any purchases me thinks

Random factoid - for all the work Nismo did for the R1 conversion (a package specifically designed for the track) on my R34 GT-R, they don't replace the factory fan setup, they just upgrade the radiator. I've driven it in traffic on a 40 degree day and it didn't skip a beat, never got above 90 degrees. It coped in the heat far better than I did...
