R34 25GT
Hi, I've been considering putting a cold air intake into mynaturally aspirated r34 Skyline, and was wondering if anyone knows a good placeto have it done, and how much i should be paying to do so? jjman
the stock setup is a cold air intake so i assume u are trying to set this up on a pod filter that you are currently running? mad082
make one yourself. if you are going to pay someone to do it then it isn't worth the extremely small gains you will see. AngryRB
Not sure what a R34 is like , but i had a spare hole that was left from the fmic being fitted up so made the hole bigger with a drill piece and managed to get a large 5inch i think drainage pipe (flexible) in there, was/is a bit cheap looking but must be doing a good job. then make the box to go over the pod, series 2 is perfect for this, massive area in that corner. Captain Natro
hey man, ive been down this road on my natro 33 for the gains its not really worth the fuss but if ur really keen this is my set up: drilled a 3inch hole and mounted a 90 degree bit of black drainage pipe under it so it was facing forwar, then connected a 4 inch square collector to the front of the pipe. i then took a peice of black tin and shapped it as an air scoop and connected it to.the fron of the collector and to the front bar. simple design and cheap Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/382314-cold-air-intake-on-r3425gt/#findComment-6146835 Share on other sites
NickC
Hey WYTSKY, would you recommend installing a cold air and heat sheild on a N/A skyline or is it just a waste of time? Brendonams
I had a small power increase, you may feel a slight bit more of power but it isn't like putting a turbo on it, I say it's worth it, helps the engine run better by getting cleaner and colder air/more airflow. WYTSKY
Nick, maybe a little something, if anything the throttle response feels a bit more crisp. all in all a good panel filter should do just as well with the factory airbox and snorkel, but you know, add a good metal intake pipe, pod, heatsheild and CAI (doing all this properly, not half assed) and it will definitely sound a bit meaner and may get bit more flow.
