Loss Of Power Steering And Hicas Light Coming On...

The Hicas system on my R33 is playing up...

Usually it's fine, but if I drive the car hard for a while, then turn the car off and then if I turn it back on again say within the hour, the HICAS light stays on and I lose power steering, but If I let the car rest then there is no problem.

Any ideas on why it would do this? Does it mean something is on the way out?

Have you checked the fuse in the boot for Hicas?

i had something similar to this, however, it wasn't from driving hard, it was from just driving for a long time, like 2 or 3 hours straight, hicas came on, turned the car off, but where yours came back on, mine turned off, some people told be that there might be a slight dodgy connection at the hicas itself, but that has only happened to me once anyway.

but as borci88 said, check the fuses, i would also check connections as well.

I have pretty much the same problem sometimes.. turn car off, turn it back on and no power steering. Checked all connections and fuses and they seem all good.

So I replaced the HICAS ECU in the boot 3 days ago and it hasn't done it since... but probably a bit too early to tell yet.

i'm thinking more along the line of doing the hicas lock bar mod, remove the hicas all together.
