S3RK
How would I go about getting the car back. I'm going to ring up my insurance company tomorrow and ask them, is there anything specific I should be asking them? S3RK
What's the max I should pay for it if it was insured for $7k? Chassis obviously bent, windscreen cracked, ECU completely fked, front left panel and door. Also somehow my boot has a dent in it??? Subwoofer? o_O Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/382336-what-drivers-on-our-roads-are-doing-to-skylines/page/3/#findComment-6117967 Share on other sites

S3RK
Okay I can get the car back. Now I'm wondering if I get a rolling shell, can I transfer the engine transmission etc into the shell and get it registered? mad082
you can, but it's not really worth the effort. trying to find a rolling shell isn't that easy. easier and more cost effective to just part it out. D_I_F
If the insurance company did not charge you an excess then, in their eyes, the other driver was at fault. I would not be stressing about this too much. It must simply be an error. Oh wait, did Julia Gillard recently announce a "getting t-boned in a round-a-bout tax"??? Look at the fine again, maybe thats what this is, or Officer Plod didnt quite make his ticket quota last month and thaught he would give this a try. You know neg driving has nothing to do whether he is at fault or not. That's a police issue not a insurance thing. I want to know who the insurance company representing the other driver is then! I will sign up with them today, if they are willing to pay out and accept responsibilty for both vehicles before the 'at fault' driver has even been identified. So what you are saying is, that once it comes out that the OP is actually the one at fault in the accident, the insurance companies will then be sueing him to reclaim their costs? Does the insurance company that you work for generally pay out large sums of money before establishing that they are contractually required to do so? I am pretty sure that a negligent driving charge would normally be enough for the insurance companies to challange payment. What if the police report, that they have not yet seen, states that the OP was drunk out of his mind, no drivers licence, only 3 wheels on the car and travelling at 490kph through the roundabout??? It's up to the inurance company to determine liability. They assess the accident description and the damage sustained to the clients vehicle and the third parties vehicle. How would I go about getting the car back. I'm going to ring up my insurance company tomorrow and ask them, is there anything specific I should be asking them? Buy it back. What's the max I should pay for it if it was insured for $7k? Chassis obviously bent, windscreen cracked, ECU completely fked, front left panel and door. Also somehow my boot has a dent in it??? Subwoofer? o_O lol.. It's only worth about 7k without damage!
