hey all

im currentlly able to pick up a complete r33 rear end including subframe, axle's and diff which im hoping to use in my cefiro.

now im wondering if anyone was experience with this or now if its beneficial/possible to use the r33 subframe for increased track?

and are the r33 5 stub axle's/half shafts able to bolt up to the standard 4 stud cefiro hubs?

cheeeeers!

Sorry to bring back the old thread

but is it possible to use the r33 rear hubs/knuckle along with the axles and diff?

While still being able to use all my adjustable s13 spec arms?

I was going to stay 4 stud but wanting to go 5 stud now.

Cheers

Tom

Rear sub frame is different to r33, use the back off your ceff/r32 diff and the front bolts off the 33 diff to put the 33 diff in, the rest fits . Beware of abs and non abs diffs as they are different and your tail shaft won't fit if you try to cross between the two

I've got the diff centre pretty well sorted, I have the bolts with the bushes for the forward mount and will swap the diff cover with my r180 when I pull it out.

Tail shaft flange fit's perfectly too.

It's a non abs rear end I have sitting here too btw

I'm just in a pickle with the axles and hubs.

Basically can I use r33 rear hubs/knuckles for 5 stud conversion?

Will my adjustable s13 arms bolt up to the knuckle's all the same?

Does the R33 diff still line up?

Cos they have bushes around the 2 bolts at the front (tailshaft end)....

yep , you need the rubber bushes and bolts to suit though :) .

all the r33 stuff bolts straight on mate , like it belongs there  , i converted my rear using all r33 stuff (bolting it to the ceff hubs)

Sorry to go off topic here but I saw in one of the first posts that the handbrake cables will fit 33 hubs?

Is that the stock cable or do you's mean a 33handbrake cable works? I converted my 4stud with dr rears to s14 all round, but now have no handbrake cables :(

Alright awesome.

How do I go about removing the hub end of the axle?

I cant get to The four bolts holding it to the hub with a socket or ring spanner?!?

Cheeeers

    • All I can say Duncan is good luck and I hope that Neil did not run any E85 in Cheryl. I have recently experienced the full spectrum of fuel tank issues in my R33's that had been caused by E85 and contaminated fuel. When you take the cover off the top of the tank and have a look inside you will get an understanding of how easy it will be. Best case situation is clean fuel with minimal contamination. My GTR was like this and it was a very simple operation to just grab the fuel pump carrier bracket and slide it up and out of the tank. My three GTS_T's had different levels of fuel contamination that was probably caused by E85 in the fuel.  In the worst case all of the metal components in the tank had rusted to the point where there were pieces of rusted metal swirling around in the tank. This required the removal of the exhaust, the tailshaft, the complete rear cradle and the fuel tank. The components in the tank were that rusted that it took days to get the fuel pump carrier and the mounting brackets out of the tank. When the tank was finally cleaned, everything inside the tank had to be replaced. With the tank all back together I could then reinstall it in the car along with everything else that had to come out. Good luck and I hope that you find a clean tank.
    • It is a two door. It is black and also still has the OEM wheels and stereo. Exact model would be KR_R32RGFEL_SS According to GTR-Registry.com is a 2 Door Coupe; RB20DE; 2WD no HICAS; MT.F5; (11L) Projector Headlamps and Fog Lights; (12_) Electronic Active Full Auto Air Con (Climate Control); (13-14SS) V Selection -- Which seems to be accurate description of my variant. Will try to upload a few pictures soon. The OEM wheels look like the below image. Image is taken from the goo-net-exchange website.
