Im considering getting modified Knuckles as well as lower control arms which are lengthened by 2cm.

Im wondering, do i need to modify anything else to get it to fit. It seems that if i move a suspension component 2cm outward, shouldnt that mean that other parts wont line up?

Any other considerations or hidden costs etc when doing this modification? FYI Im also ordering Kazama tension rods which will give more clearnace if im really cranking the steering angle.

thanks

You'll get alot more camber up front. I'm running something like -4.5 with 20mm LCAS.

everything should line as as long as the cut and shut has been done after the castor rod position.

Just make sure you have a wheel with some inner clearance (i.e 8-9 +20ish) and you should be sweet. Worst case, you can always chuck on a spacer.

Might want to grab some upper arms so you can adjust camber accordingly. Obviously when you lengthen LCA's you will have a whole heap of negative camber because you would have pushed the bottom out.

definately get upper camber arms wouldnt be doing the above without them !

also some people have found that you need longer tie rods ... i have knuckles and r33 lca's and 20mm longer tie rods and there is really just enough thread to make it safe, some people have bought 30mm longer just in case, depends on your exact setup though

Im doing my knuckles soon and I have bought a set of ikeya tie rods they are massive so they will be enough but yeah as for the rest as others have said need camber arms to bring back the camber.

Lengthing lca wont give you more lock it just gives you more clearance from rail and castor rods so you can run more lock.

So it depends if your current problem is clearance then yes you will gain lock providing lock stops are cut down but if youve maxed the rack travel thats when youll need the knuckles.

as above.

I did get more lock with the inner/outer tie rods but yeah the LCAS are more for clearance.

I want to cut my lock stoppers on the knuckles down, I should do it this weekend actually! haha.

    • No, I don't remember the exact reasoning (was 20 years ago!) but the cops didn't end up supplying it to us either. Actually my mother went through a similar thing recently where she was hit when stationary, flustered and didn't get address (she got plate details, name, phone and insurance company, but not address). Person who hit her blocked her number and their insurance company (naturally) would not provide any details. Her insurance company also required her to pay the at fault premium because she did not have the address, cops did not help as it is a minor civil matter (they said their only course was if the other driver had left the scene of the accident without providing any details). She only ended up getting that refunded because they happened to be insured with Suncorp and she was with APIA so same company owners. For some reason the address is critical in insurance companies recovering money from the at fault party
    • If you're driving something like an R32 through to R34, no chance of meeting Euro4. Euro4 came out in 2006, and car manufacturers back then were complaining how hard it would be to meet those regulations. Not a chance a vehicle 10 years earlier is going to be compliant.
    • I presume it would take more than just slapping a big modern catalyst on the exhaust? It's interesting though, looking at the old sales brochures and listings it does not mention anything about emissions. No one cared.
    • Yeh nice, looks like their part of keep it reet? Will have to swing past. I'd much prefer someone actually look at my car and custom make a part, then get a generic part online and hope it works.
    • No, but they will be WAAAAAAY too high. You will never get your ticket.
