Wet air filter

Has anyone had problems with water getting under the hood and causing their air filter pods to get wet?

I noticed that one of my hks pods on my gtr is wet and there is a little puddle of water in the engine bay after i washed my car... will this cause damage to the engine?

Same thing happens to me. Doesnt matter, might make your AFMs read odd but thats about it. There isnt enough water to cause any damage.

The rubber seals on your bonnet near the passenger side headlight must be loose.

It appears the water from the windscreen area gets into a few gaps and grooves and makes it way down the inside of the panels, where it drips right onto one of the pods. Strange... i tried putting some silicon here and there so hopefully it helps.

If it's only when your washing it, its not a big deal just keep the hose pressure down abit in general, or just give the area around the pods a wipe after your done, as long as its not getting in when your cruising around when its raining etc.

i dunno if it's getting in, the foam is wet.... stupid question but what would happen?

not sure what happens - but i know i've been told when washing/cleaning engine back just dont get the air filters wet *shrugs*

appart from the fact that if the water goes in through the air filter then it will also pass through the turbo... Dont know if thats a bad thing or not?
