There are quite a few near stock SS' in the 10s :nyaanyaa:

even stock turbo Soarer's running 11.6s

But yeah, even my 33 gtst when running well put a bigger smile on the dial than the Soarer does

You won't buy a GT-R based on logic/sense, you will buy it based purely on emotions/desire.

You know you bought the right car when you park it and look back, or walk into your garage and look at it.

This happened to me two weeks after I bought my R32 GT-R. Haven't looked back since. I'll try everything to keep it.

If I sell it, next car will be R34 GT-R.

I've had my car 6 years now and still find myself staring at it on occasion. :D I'd love to get another car, but I don't see myself selling this one, and I can't justify owning a second car.

Don't let the knockers tell you otherwise, R34 GTR's are good things.

More of an object of desire than a top level performer these days, but yes, certainly a thing of beauty to have in the garage.

Whether they're worth double the value of an equally nice R32 GTR, is up to the individual. I say yes :)

But, don't buy one to track, waste of a good car, and not fast in outright terms without massive mods.

Buy one for nice Sundays, or just to look at while enjoying a beer on a Friday afternoon :)

Just don't buy a dog.

What are you doing in here Ben??

lol

I do agree 100% though....apart from double the value of the R32....remember the R32 beat all those V8s at bathurst 20 years ago....

Would be the only skyline I would ever buy now....but alas I am poor so it will never happen

It's not worth selling a 32 GTR... Just save a touch longer and buy a 34 and have both... Win win...

I already have two cars, my R31 and the GT-R :(

I won't be seeing an 34R for a while though :(

If I get rich I'll keep them all :D

... who honestly cares how an Independent Rear Suspension Grand Touring Racing Sports Coupe goes over 400m ? ... id be much more interested how it went over say a trip from Sydney to Brisbane ! ... :) ... an R34 GT-R is an awesome car with over 40 years of racing pedigree to back it up ... to even put it in the same sentence as a 10 sec Holden is ridiculous ... the R34 GT-R is the last true GT-R ever made ... they do everything a grand touring sports coupe should do straight out of the box & some !!! ... considering theyre quite rare for a production car due to their smaller than usual production numbers & the fact that they are a true sports car & not just one that looks like one & that they will outclass in everything from driving to performance to handling to build quality to value for money to resale value - $50,000 is CHEAP !!! ... wether its for a camera a tailored suit a set of sockets or a flash restaurant youll always pay more for quality - always ! ... an R34 GT-R isnt $50,000 for any other reason than it is of higher quality & better than its competitors hands down - you pay for what you get ... :) ...

With this logic, an early nineties automatic Honda NSX is of a higher quality than a R34 GT-R.

The price of a used car is driven by the same thing as everything else, supply and demand. If R34 GT-Rs were as common as R33 GTS-ts I think one could pick one up for no more than $20,000

Im so glad R34 GTR's are over priced like they are at least you dont get absolute tools and di*kwads driving them on a daily basis like the taxi's s15's and gts-t's have become.

I dont mean to be disrespectful to the silvia or gts-t owners but the legitemately nice and well built ones are outweighed by the POS's with dose pipes and 20's simply cause "OMGG ITS A SKYLINE".

If it where up to me I wish 34 GTR's where double the price. The loan i would need to take out will help me sleep at night knowing that I own an exclusive car with a bunch of enthusiasts and not some f*cking tools and pretenders

Lol Double the price and you would have a bunch of wankers driving them...Ala Porsche's R35s Ferrari's etc

Cars that sort of $$$ are bought by people who feel the need to be more important than the "poor" people

I can tell you now there are more "dickwads" driving expensive cars than there are enthusiasts

Totally agree with you there, I was out the front of the gym and there was a brand new sti with the owner about to get in. Naturally like any car I dig I say nice car mate, he said thanks in a tone to say don't look at it or talk to me lower class citizen as I was walking away from my 88 camry. Secretly smiling to myself thi king hah bet my gtt would smoke you buddy

He was definitely tool of the week.

Good point Matt makes. If an NSX is going to go for $100k it should at least be a late model manual 3.2. Never had the chance to drive one but I don't see how an 8,000 rpm redline with VTEC and a four-speed auto can make a good combo.

That's right Jarrad, you can never judge a man by his daily! :)

Haha, I dont know there's something about the R34 GTR or any GTR for that matter that makes it mythical in a way. We can all say this SS will beat it on the straight or some s13 will take it on the track (not really), but when a car has a nickname like Godzilla, how do you compare a commodore to Godzilla? My uncle recently bought a 09 Shelby GT500 Mustang for 140k, only 2 in Australia and really theres history behind that car but I said to him sure its a nice car, still doesnt do it for me like a GTR. They are just a legendary vehicle and worth every cent and obviously people agree as to why we have to pay that much because they still buy them. If one person that forked out for one can tell me they fully regret it I'll chop it because chumps dont buy R34 GTRs, real enthusiasts do.

    • I’m also conscious that e85 is slowly being phased out. Not all United’s have them anymore. Can’t take the risk of being low on petrol and assuming the servo will have it.
    • MR HAMMER has said his piece. Painted up to avoid Rusty Rusty. Actually lines up well. (i.e it lines up the same as the unmolested GTR guard). Turns out the GTR Strut brace does foul on the bonnet vents ever so slightly. May need a little bendy bendy if intended to keep using with a strut brace. So spacing it out to clear the FAST102 is not an option. Annoyingly, the bonnet vents also foul on the heater lines running over the engine. Given this engine does not EVER require a heater, a delete loop is going to be used. Don't worry, the defogger uses the AC. The heater is basically "Do not use the aircon and turn the fan on". It will still be effective, I promise.... once I get the system regassed... Will have to revisit with unvented bonnet I suppose, and suitable strut brace. There's plans to do this and other things tonight and bleed brakes (there was a weep) and put the bumper back on, and take Good Friday morning - Because troubleshooting on the side of the road limping it home at midnight tonight is ... not very smart.
    • Thank you all for you assistance. I contacted Nistune regarding the support for the RB20DE along with my ECU Code (23710-10U00). They do have a map for it and added the RB20DE as a purchasable option now as well. They also added Malta as a Billing and Delivery options as this was missing. I was honestly amazed at their quick response and action, it took less than 24 hours. I also looked again at direct fit options for injectors, just in case I were to replace them. DeatschWerks seem to use a Bosch EV14 base and makes ones that fit mine at 440cc lowest, but also have 550cc at the same price. I tried looking for other direct fit options and managed to find one (also Bosch EV14 based) which includes a plug and play adapter on ebay. Did a small test with a Noid Light on the troubled injectors and all seems good, so they are pulsing properly electrically. One weird part is that they are missing on the same two cylinders as before I got the injectors cleaned. Mechanic also found this weird as he did not label the injectors and it is unlikely to have the faulty injectors be installed in the same cylinders.
