have a greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller to be installed on a r34 gt-t

atm engine mods only include return flow fmic and a airpod (boxed in).

going to get this isntalled and tuned hopefully in next couple of weeks. just wondering with the increased boost do i need any other mods? ie fuel pump or fuel regulator? airflow etc?

been out of the car scene for way to long, and my memory has shat.

cheers

(and yes ive tried the search, either im still jetlagged as hell or having trouble with it)

An aftermarket turbo back exhaust will help.

3" or 3.5" in diameter will be fine.

Stock fuel pump / regulator and AFM should hold up fine, but will depend on how much boost you want to run.

you will be limited by the standard ecu.

if adding the boost controller to a bog stock GTT i think you could get away with 10 or so PSI.. Yet I would want a dyno to back this up with safe AFR's and no knock.

as you add mods like a turbo back exhaust and front mount cooler you will want to re dyno the car to pick the safest boost level again.

ultimately you will want to pick your final level of mods and then have it 'tuned' for them using a nistune or similar.

either way, welcome to the rim of the money pit. prepare to empty your wallet and then some.

Search should have given you heaps to read, as this is one of the most commonly exasperating questions asked on here.

Simple answer is don't waste your time doing a boost increase unless you are prepared to do the thnigs that you really need to do. These include;

  • At least making sure that your fuel pump is up to scratch but better to just bang in a Walbro or 040/044 in tank,
  • At least getting the ECU Nistuned so you can overcome the massive overfuelling and retardation that happen once you push the boost only a few psi over standard,
  • Perhaps contemplating even better engine management upgrades if your not too scared of defectability,
  • Decent dump pipe, cat and exhaust upgrades.

cheers

+ I read that the R34 GTT comes with plastic compressor wheel... Not sure if this is true...

But if so, would 10 PSI still be safe?
