Another question.

Does anyone have pictures of their alternator wiring for their RB20 ? When I connect the main plug on the back of the alternator (the one that bolts on with the 10mm nut) the battery dies, but when I remove it, the battery is fine and starts the car but doesn't run off the alternator..

Is the alternator dead or is it a wiring issue ? I just put the battery in to the boot along with the fuse box. Everything works the way it should when it starts, the only problem is the alternator (the battery light goes on aswell for obvious reasons after about 10-15 mins when its close to the battery dying since no alternator charge).

What I also noticed on the RB20 alternator is that there is no physical ground connected to it ? Is this because it's already getting grounded from the motor or is another ground required via the body of the car ?

Right now there is the plug at the top back of the alternator (the one with the black cap over it with 10mm nut) and there is the 2 wire plug that plugs into the side of the alternator and that's it. Total of 3 wires going into it.

Wiring issue from the sound of it...

mine has three. im using an r33 alternator as mine also cacked it, ill get a photo up soon but i just had quick loom and there is the two pin plug that plugs in, the battery which is the ten mm nut i believe AND THEN there is a screw with a wire in it (ground im assuming). if you havent got a ground its not going to charge :) ill get some photos in a sec.
