When it comes down to easy to use software, which package comes out on top, the only software I've ever used is Motec and it is brilliant, it however is prohibitively expensive to buy.

Pretty much all the ECUs listed have enough features for most people to do what they want, when it comes down to just being easy to use, intuitive and painless what software wins here?

If would be interesting to hear from people who have used multiple packages, always hard to tell what the case is when someone recommends something if that is all they have used, or they have compared it to others.

1. 0 aux outputs

2. inability to do wheel speed over boost

3. inability to do windscreen wiper speed over wheel speed over TPS over engine temp

4. inability to do multi level rev limit

5. it's not red

lol

I have a m800 for my race car and had thoughts of converting my GTR to motec but I can't bring myself to removing the trusty old PFC ljetro it's the nicest driving modified car I have ever driven cold starts like factory and has had the same tune in the ecu for 3years.. For me in my street car the PFC was the best 1k that I spent out of the 100k. Lol

Really?

After going from the dinosaur PFC to a MAP based plug in link, I couldn't be happier. Same tuner and fuel and my cold starts have been better than ever. That includes being on 1/3rd the size injectors on pump fuel!

ATM it's first time everytime on E85! The Link doesn't fluff around like the FC did.

Some tuners obviously have there favourites and one of Matts is the PFC so yeah tune up's perfect. Only fluffs the FC has given over 7years is that slight cut for a split m/sec that every FC seem to do although i cant remember the last time it did it.. For a ECU that was developed in the 90's and can PNP in minutes its a pretty solid option that has served me well...

if we can reliably make well over 900hp from a PFC.... what shortcoming did you find that we didnt? question not criticism.

My powerfc died but I found the wolf made the car feel and drive alot better.

I found the powerfc had the stumble which alot of them do.

Mainly because its red for sure...

No, just the way Sean explained how he can tune the wolf over the powerfc or over the other brands sold me.

Along with the Aux outputs.

best and cheapest ecu on the market is the link g4 same as a vipec v88...................even the vipec v88 plug n play harness will plug in to a link g4...........thats the euc im going buy at ther end of the year for $1599 is loaded with features

Which model G4?

the g4 xtreme..................best bang for your buck............has more features then haltech ps2000,microtech,wolf etc.....................its up there with motec and vipec............they can even transplant the link g4 xtreme into your stand ecu box so straight pnp deal

here are the features of it but go the site and check them out very impressive units these links

havent got it yet early next year i be getting one rrp is $1600.......................plus the guys at link in NZ are really helpful and go out of their way for ya too...................i had a wolf v500 sold cause no one wanted to touch it..............invested that money into a hypertune inlet manifold

That seems entirely reasonable, no plugin for a jza70 though

Which for that price range the v500 plugin seems a better deal as I am useless with a soldering iron lol

Or the aem unit I linked earlier at 1200 bucks. Still unsure what that comes with as the base aem ecu if more expensive than that

lol........aem wouldnt touch them with a 50 foot pole had rocco's replace a aem cdi unit 3 times and all 3 blew up with in 5 weeks of each other on my old la lancer 2.6t...........changed it over to a crane item FTW...............in the states they have alot of issues with the aem ecu troll thru supra forum us and see the threads on defective aem ecu's

I have been emailing Link about getting the extreme to work on the VQ25det, they didnt seem all that interested but said it should do the job. The extra modules (elec throttle, 5 bar map etc) add a fair bit to the cost but the unit on its own seemed to be around 2k, where did you get that price?
