Hey Guys,

I am about to sell my current car, my R32 GTS-T Skyline (car is discussed here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/381631-how-much-is-my-r32-worth/page__hl__playboi14)

I am looking to get an R34 GT-T as a replacement for my current R32, because as much as I have my R32, I would like a newer base to start work on if I am eventually going to put more money into it.

I am after a good standard R34. If you look at my R32 in the thread, you will see I am meticulous when it comes to fine details and appearances. I am after an R34 that has been cared for, as much, or more as I have cared for my current R32. That being said I am after one that is:

  • Later model, so 1999 would be preferred
  • One that has semi decent K's (nothing silly in the 170,000+ range), anywhere from 50,000 - 150,000 is more of what I am looking for. Considering the car is really only 11- 14 years old it shouldn't be that hard to find one with decent K's
  • Has a well maintained and cared for interior (no silly shit like air-con vents removed for gauges, stock gear-knob removed to shove a $30 repco gear-knob on it, driver & passenger seats ripped or worn out for some reason, etc)
  • Exterior has to be stock. Overall subtle upgrades like clear indicators are fine, but I am not after a big fully sick R34 with a massive full body kit, 22 Inch chrome rims, a two tone car with half of it black and the other half painted in lime green, or any other variation of strange and weird things I have seen rolling around.
  • Mechanically, I am after one that has seen limited modifications and alterations, I don't mind if the brakes, suspension, exhaust system have been upgraded or enhanced as most people do this anyway on old cars. I am just not really after a powerhouse of a R34. I don't need one that has had its turbo's upgraded, its coilpacks changed to spitfires and its computer changed. Again after a standard car that hopefully hasn't been modified or played with too much (to limit the amount of money, time and frustration in the future)
  • Not fussed about colours really. would like to have it in black but any of the stock standard colours are good. I don't mind if its been resprayed, but if its been resprayed in some strange non skyline colour (or worse a bodgy paint colour where the outside is one colour and the engine bay and the boot are another) I am not really after that.
  • While a sound system is good, I honestly couldn't care less about it. I don't care if it comes with its stock player and speakers as eventually I will put my own sound system in it
  • Would be great if it come with a sunroof, or any other factory extras

I understand that the R34 is getting old and that there has to be scratches, dings, and overall wear consider after all it IS just a car. However if anyone has a nice stock R34 I would be interested in seeing how much you want for them.

That all being said, in the next few weeks I will be getting my R32 registered again and changing the very last few small imperfections on it, so I can sell it on.

If anyone would consider swapping for my R32 GTS-T with additional cash your way, I would be interested in hearing from you. Or if anyone has an R34 and just after cash for it, I can see how much difference I will need to add on top of he sale of my car to buy it.

Im thinking anywhere around the $14,000 - $17,000 range I would be willing to spend, depending on the car itself.

Whoever wants to comment please do, I know im fussy as, but there are always the rare jems that somehow people seem to either luck into, or find through hard work, and I would like that type of R34 :P

- Regards

Probably asking a lot

Hey Mate,

Thanks for the reply, Yea I like my R32 but Im just after something thats a few years younger so I can use it more of a daily drive and weekend car.

I've spent thousands on my car, I actually kept a detailed folder full of all of my receipts and figures that I have spent on my car, hundreds of them (however for some of the places like wreckers I had to simply put down how much I spent in a spreadsheet).

I stopped a few months ago when even I was getting tired of spending money on it lol.

Seems to be lots of R34's rolling around, but I just want to find a good stock one :P

I have a decent one but its manual and from memory you were searching for an auto.

If you change your mind and want a manual here is the link - http://www.carsales....lo=Stock&eapi=2

Thanks for the message mate.

I am really looking for an Auto as my main preference, but I am open to manual still. Also looking for an R34 in as near as stock condition as possible, with the standard R34 rims, steering wheel, instruments, interior and mechanicals as possible.

However thanks for the interest mate, have a good sale :P

Thanks to all the people messaging me, I am still looking and am always interested to see what type of R34 your selling :P

ill be putting my car up on the market soon once I put some more rego on it and clean it up.

Thanks.

Haha, Yea it seems to be that way, everyone seems to be after an R34.

I think I am going to keep my R32 and make it even better, and either next year or 2013 buy an R34, as I dont want to go for the cheaper 12/13K ones and get rubbish.

Still interested if anyone is selling a decent R34, or looking for trade + cash for my R32 but I am not that concerned now :P

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
