Hi all,

I have not posted here for a while (used to be a R34 GTT owner) but just wanted to inform the skyline community of a bad transaction I recently had with a vendor (japanautos) on ebay, they also have their own website - japanautos.com.au

The short story, I paid $389 + $79 postage = $468.00 for a "JDM JZS147 Toyota Aristo Stainless Steel Exhaust System" which was described as "In fair condition (as indicated in pictures) some scratches and dents to underside." Took delivery of the exhaust and as it turned out, both rear mufflers had severe rust internally and debris were falling out of the exhaust as I was inspecting it.

Contacted seller and no response for nearly a week, I then filed a paypal claim for a refund, the seller finally responded and wanted me to post the exhaust back in original condition with tracking (which would've cost me more than $100 as I don't have a contract freight company), they then would only refund the original item price of $389 to me. Basically they wanted to charge me $79 (original postage) plus return postage $100+, FOR THEIR OWN MISTAKE!

I then sent a few emails to them trying to negotiated a partial refund (asked for 50%) for keeping the exhaust, so that at least I'd be able to use the centre section of the exhaust which is still usable and not waste anymore money on return postage. Again, no response from the seller, I had no choice but left a negative feedback for the transaction seeing that the seller had no interest of trying to resolve this problem with its buyer. They then responded by offering a condescending refund of $50 if I retract the negative feedback.

You guys can make your own conclusions about what kind of business this japanautos company is and the way they treat their customer.

I did not make this thread in hoping to get their attention and get my money back but just wanted to warn everyone in the skyline community the business conduct of this particular Japanese parts seller. I'm not saying that all of their products are bad or falsely advertised but if you don't want to risk going through the trouble I have been through in case something went wrong in your transaction, then stay away from them.

I will be happy to provide additional photos of the damaged exhaust and email exchanges if anyone is interested.

Regards

Jason

Id consider "in fair condition" as pritty shit, But that price is fairly high for something like that if it was only a catback in that condition. I've been to there shop and a few mates have bought parts from there and haven't had a problem. But I can understand your pain with the lack of communication, nothing more frustrating.

I have used japan autos myself for a few items, they are pretty rough at times and you need to be careful.

If they say the item is in A1 order they generally mean it, I got a couple of engines which were as good as they said they were... However I did an off the books R154 box and I got sent a box missing the inspection plates and fork assembly (which I specifically asked for).

The guy to talk to is Tony, PM me if you want his mobile number and you can call him to sort it out direct (no email stuff).

I have bought genuine floor mats from them (off their ebay store). They accidentally sent it to the wrong person who purchased something else from JapanAutos.

I asked them where that person lives, they told me the address, they called the guy up and told him I am driving there to collect them (15min away, luckily.)

After I advised them that I had collected the mats, they offered to refund me the entire cost of the mats + shipping for their mistake.

I only wanted a refund on the shipping to cover petrol costs as the mats were priced very well for their condition and the way they handled business was great. happy.gif

For reasons like this (it's being updated slowly)

Remember only one side of the story is posted, simply put - who knows what really happened.

If you have an issue, contact the relevant Authorities and sort it out that way.

Once you have an official ruling - post to your hearts content.
