Looking at getting grandstand tickets. Just wondering what the best seats were for a good view with plenty of shade ?

I have been to a couple of clipsal events and makes you think, WTF am I doing here. You only get to watch cars going around on the one corner or straight. The rest of the time is spent on watching the big screen anyway. Might as well chill at home with a few bevs and have the boys around for a barbie :D Way better then spending the money to get on the stands.

Meh once the first carton is down mate the atmosphere will be pretty much the same :P

If you just want to follow the race, staying at home and watching it on tele is the better way, but if you want the whole petrol head experience than going to the races is better. Pitty there is so much boganism at clipsal.

Yeah I disagree Kirshy - Clipsal is as much about {walking around admiring hotties, seeing displays of all varieties, eating too much and drinking too many Cougars}, as it is about cars. I love it!

I will ask around mate, not sure. Sled bought 2 of them off us, as Chops and Nikki obviously won't come anymore. But Sonia or Brownyn may not be keen, so you may be in wiht a chance. I will let you know.

I've got a good seat but can't see much racing out side of the GT's and I find the Podium is a good place to stand for those races, always good company up there, this year it was 4 grid girls and Murray Walker :whistling:

And Nightcrwaler and I were stars last year on the TV's... when filming the Model Parade we were in the front row

and here was our view

I don't know anyone with spare tickets, I gave mine up with you after last years.

My dad has found people for his spare 2 seats

I willl get you David's bank account details to transfer some $$ to sooner or later too.

    • Apexi, though I'm not comfortable with setting the idle, knowing me I'll f**k it up lol.
    • What ECU is on your car @silviaz? You can just change the idle target table yourself and the IACV duty cycle. Noting that if you play around with the screw you'll also need to revisit the idle base duty table as you will end up offsetting the lot. Another reason why DBW is superior, there's less mucking about.
    • Yep. Saw that on the image above but, wonder if it makes more sense to clean out the iacv because let's say in theory mine is dirty and if I clean it the rpm will drop. If I first go to my tuner to drop the rpm and then go to clean my iacv won't it drop further or is the rpm a fixed number?
    • Yeah it was a good result, and confirming the car is full of fluids and all interior etc in, other than fuel. I think a few pages back (maybe many pages!) he mentioned some serious lightening in the doors with the chassis punch, might have been done elsewhere I hadn't seen yet too
    • He still had the suspension dialled in for him! I would have sworn the lowest weight he ever got to was 1300kg though Maybe Neil had been drilling a LOT of holes somewhere you haven't found yet... 😛 Or has he also drained all the gearbox and diff oil out too, between it, and a tank full of fuel there's about 65kg to 70kg to add back in I'd guess. 😛
