hi guys,

i dont know if this is the right place to ask this so if its not could one of the mods please move

anyway

i have a R32 4door with a SR20 in it (blasphemy i know but thats not the issue) when i bought the car the air con had already been removed,

this isnt too bad on most days but when we are getting high 30 degree days and i can garuntee it will be a hot summer i am seriously thinking of some how getting air con.

now the question can i fit a whole r32 aircon system back into the car?

will the compressor work with the sr20 or will i need a sr20 compressor? if i do need a sr20 compressor will the rest of the r32 system hook up ok?

now the other problem i face is the intercooler is mounted up behind the rad support with the radiator flush mounted behind using up the extra space gained by having the sr20 allowing extra short piping, i then have ducting running up from the front bumper to the intercooler. so the original place for the aircon radiator is no longer available

where could i mount the air con radiator? or is there an option for a smaller aftermarket aircon radiator?

hopefully someone here is a guru on aircon

thanks for your help

you can buy aftermarket a/c condensors mate, you might want to refit the factory condensor and move the the fmic forward a touch, hard to say without seeing any pics.

as for the compressor you will need the sr compressor to fit your sr brackets, then custom lines made on the sr compressor hose fittings then mated with the r32 at the other end. I would go find a good auto sparkie in your area that is into there nissans to take on the job, maybe on gumtree.

I have done such jobs and made custom lines and relocated the reciever drier as they hit the fmic, tho im in brisbane. hope this helps

that helps heaps, thanks for that.

who sells aftermarket condensor's? is there an option to have a smaller condersor and mount it off to the side similar to how you can mount an oil cooler?

in regards to custom lines, do they have to be hard lines like the fatory ones or is there another option like braided lines?

Try a company called Cool Drive for all things air con.

Your condenser will need as much air flow as you can get going over it so a side mount won't work, you will need to re-configure your intercooler setup to make it work properly.

Hard lines connectors will be needed to bolt into the compressor. You can then run with hoses for the rest of the A/C system without the need the need for hard lines, as long as they meet the refrigerant and pressure requirements. Only thing is, is that they are a little more unreliable.
