I might be up for some Steering controls only. Not interested in the Cruise control side of things. If I get the tuning of this ECU down, it can store up to 5 ECU Maps. You can trigger them via the factory Cruise control buttons.

I'll let you know once I get it sorted.

Cheers.

Hey Alex, appears there could be a few sets of controls floating around looking for a home. I'll make sure I put you in touch with someone selling when the time comes.

So your ECU can be set to look for different resistances across a pair of wires to determine what map to use...? That sounds very cool. What would be nice is to be able to change the writing so the buttons say stuff like ECO, STD & POWA, for example, lol.

Its activated by holding down one of the buttons and then toggling up or down on the .... well, toggle thingo. Up to 5 maps, so you could have power, econ, and a valet map with speed limiter set to 25km/h / 2000rpm, Or a kill map so the car wont move anywhere.

Got to figure out if this systenm works yet, and tune it, so count me out for a little while on the buttons, but down the track I might get some

I have a similar set up for my 180sx. It's a PLMS 4 map switchable on the fly daughter board in the stock ECU.

1- 98oct.

2- 98oct valet (3000rpm limit and 60km)

3- E85.

4- E85 valet. Same limits. Can only make 8psi by 3k but then the speed limit hits.

Works a treat. I switch to the valet map and unplug the small controller if it goes to a tyre centre.

PLMS don't offer this set up any more.

Sorry Cam...

Couldn't wait... Wife got 3 seperate speeding infringement notices in the post today... All on Eastlink over a 1 week period before Christmas. Over $500 and 5 points as well... Cruise was fitted and installed in the Stagea 2 hours later...

Just need to teach her now to use the cruse on the XC90 now... She is also now terrified of the postman...

Yes. If you can wait until receive mine, I'll also swap the fascia so you done have to cut (and mine won't have the hole)... if you want... and Jules pulls out.

Hi Lean,

Cruise fitted and works great!! Thanks again for that. Just need a quick re-adjust on the angle of the stalk, but that is only a few screws to get at. Also took the opertunity to fit a long overdue replacement pollen filter, when I had the passenger side apart..

Nick

Hi Nick

just want to say "ouch" pinch.gif . I hope the cc keeps the postman away from now on, lol.

Hi Commsman

Just wondering if you still have any of these kits, and how much it would be delivered to Sydney.

Cheers mate,

G'day.

I'm waiting on some throttle harnesses to arrive that were out of stock when originally ordered/shipped. I'm taking EOI in these & only have 2 places left to fill. Price is $490 delivered to anywhere in Aus.

Cheers, Leon.

Hi Leon,

I know this is kinda late but do you by any chance have a set of those cruise controls inclusive of the steering wheels control left?

Im located in WA if that affects anything.

PM me.

Cheers,

Nicholas

Sorry guys, I don't read here very often.

I had lost a cruise control box in the garage somewhere & only found it during a post Christmas clean up - but it has been promised to another guy.

I guess I could be willing to do another run of 20 units, but it's a lot of $ to have sitting around. Anyone wanting to go halves?

Mmm, so that's 5 people interested. I can only buy them in lots of 20 so really need a few more or else I'll be left holding the baby, so to speak.

If the count gets to >10 confirmed people I'll seriously look into it. Also reckon a good idea would be to have a discount for those that pay before I need to transfer the money. That might entice the fence sitters' to convert.

    • yeah i agree paint match stops it from standing out so much, oh that's actually really good to know i was wondering if it would help with air flow now actually having an outlet in the bonnet. Will have to focus on ducting into and out of the radiator now to make the most of it.
    • I would paint match the whole thing to avoid unwanted attention  I had a similar bonnet, paint matched, on my old R33 GTST, but mine was a fibreglass jobbie made by Blitz in QLD, they work extremely well for radiator efficiency and under bonnet temps
    • Does anyone run this kit with factory plenum? Does the adapter and bosch tb fit under factory strut brace? I wanted to get this setup before going forward facing manifold. Thanks
    • small update time, after always wanting a "cool" looking bonnet for my car and always struggling to find one for the series 2 that i liked and wasn't an insane amount of money. Saw one i liked on RHDjapan from D-speed in Japan the price was very good for a carbon bonnet so good infact i was a little unsure how much i trusted it, decided to bite the bullet and with the help of jesse streeter in not long at all it was at my door. Once it was delivered i ran in from work and quickly unboxed it and to my surprise the quality was actually pretty good i quickly removed the old bonnet and placed on the new one to test it out and even the fitment wasnt too bad at all. Then decided to paint the little grille in the bonnet black to stop it sticking out so much.   I decided to not mess around with the hood latch and just install some aero catch hood pins, having never installed them before did some YouTube university classes and i was good to go. fair to say it is not a fun job at all from making brackets so the pins sit nicely and actually cutting through the bonnet but also being very scared of cutting the holes too big it took wayyyy longer than i would like to admit but finally got it there. Then it was time for a quick test drive to ensure the latches actually worked and thankfully the bonnet looked very stable. I still think paint matching the bonnet and leaving just the part that sticks up as carbon would help make it all look alot neater as im not sure how i feel about all that carbon on a very fridge white car but will leave it as is and see how i feel with time.
    • I think it's bound to happen, you finally get it all perfect, and bam, something will happen. I took a while to get a Commodore rear quarter repaired where a P Plater clipped it. Two days after getting it back, Sarah wiped it out on a concrete pillar in an underground car park... This is why I take forever to repair them, it stretches how long until it gets bent again... 😛
