By far Toyota's best looking car they've produced, with Subaru's help.

I work for Toyota and was able to drive one of these a few weeks ago, they've got some guts for a 2.0L and the exhaust has a nice tone to it.

Top of the range is looking at around $39,990, at my dealership we are selling them "on demand" so only getting a few until September.

Very promising product and before long i bet there will be A LOT of these gorgeous looking cars getting around.

Why is everyone getting so worked up about what it looks like?

To me the only thing that matters about a car like this is the driving experience. For all I care, it can look like a steaming pile of dog poo, as long as it's a lot of fun to drive.

Then again, I've been driving Subarus for the last 10 years, so looks in cars clearly mean nothing to me.

Looks are important. That said, it's certainly not ugly. And as an aside to that even, Toyota still deserve to sell a billion of these things.

Stil believe it needs some type of wing similar to a 180 or s15 gt. someone photoshop it, I tried and failed

You can get the Toyota 86 with a sports pack which includes body kit & a LARGE rear wing, in my opinion the wing is a bit oversized. But, the bodykit gives it a much more aggressive look. I'm yet to sell one of these cars with a sports pack it's around $4,000 extra.

With a rear wing it would look a Supra, without quite as much homo as a Supra.

Ive seen the optional wing and it looks horrible IMO, needs something inbetween that and a wing that comes on all Eco boxs

Thumbs up to this, i agree the wing is over-sized and looks too over the top for a small coupe. But in saying that i do like the bodykit.

I like the bigger rear wing, it sits up nice and high in the air and if the aero guys at Toyota have done their job right it should work well.

Also where is the performance line drawn at aero, Ive seen bigger wings on alot of lower powered cars at the track doing fast times.

I see these with some good tyres and a bit of a tweek here and there being fun and quick little trackday cars

Ordered a white gta last week, god knows when it will be delivered, they seem to speculate 5 months to 1year :(

This is the bigest problem at the moment for anyone who decides to take the leap.

Personally I'm going to wait until i have been for a drive in the BRZ then decide which one i like more and thats after being told i can have the demo toyota 86 car at work for a decent price.

can i assume you have given one a drive?

if so, how was it?

Yeh i have driven a couple now.

They handle very well and are fun little cars to drive through twisty roads. This is where they should be driven for the most out of them. Very responsive with little body roll and they just turn where you want them to turn.

They are definitely not a straight line car and you can feel it when you drive it this way but they were never built to be driven in straight lines.
