ive just fried my clutch on the weekend, i got straight on my computer and did a search in the qld section for advice, i have an r31 with an rb25det and i saw that a lot of u were recomending nicks and the 3000 pound organic daiken excedy.

so while i was at work today my old man went to nicks to get me the clutch but was told that that clutch was to heavy for me and i would need to redo all the linkage, he has recomended a 2600 pound nismo for $540, has anyone had any experiance with these, im looking at upgrading my turbo and will have around 250rwkw, and i do a bit of circuit racing and drag racing.

all help is very much appreciated.

i think the nismo's are heavy too..

OS giken are good apparently..

Excedy clutches are good too, and have a stockish feel.. what i have, although i don't have 250rwkw but apparently they're meant to be ok for something up near that.

Did my clutch last week and found the prices everyone quoted last year (on this site) to be way outdated. My results are below;

Nicks Clutch Service - (Doug) 3227 9403

- R32 gtr Nismo clutch organic plate (fits R33gtst) - $533 (clutch only)

- Daiken Heavy Duty - $ (cannot find)

ABS Brakes and Service - (Trevor) 3808 3533

- Daiken Exedy Heavy Duty Nissan Patrol Clutch - $500 fully installed

- Daiken Exedy standard GTST clutch - $560 fully installed

- Daiken Exedy Heavy Duty - $790 fully installed

- Daiken Ecedy NHD - $850 fully installed

- Installation and machining costs - $290

These guys were very helpful and give a 1 year warranty

Slacks creek brake and clutch - 3808 8193

- Daiken standard - $580 fully installed

Tried other places, but all quoted higher installation costs.

I ended up going with the Exedy NHD and have found it to be good thus far. Haven't had a good chance to test it, but will soon.

I cannot find the pressure plate ratings, so you will have to give these guys a call to find out.

Hope this helps,

Mike

(PS. The nissan patrol HD clutch is identical to the skyline HD clutch, although the casing is not shatter proof. It fits and has the same clamping pressure as the skyline HD).
