schumi comments on leaving merc.

"I have had three nice years with the team which unfortunately did not go as well as we all would have wanted on the sporting side,"

"I wish Lewis well and for the team to achieve the success we worked so hard for in the build-up.

"I would like to thank the team for their trust and all the guys for their unconditional commitment. I will now concentrate on the next races."

Team boss Ross Brawn, who was by Schumacher's side for all seven of his Drivers' Championship titles, was quick to thank the German for his efforts over the last three seasons.

"On behalf of Mercedes, I would first of all like to thank Michael Schumacher for the important contribution he has made to the growth of our team over the past three seasons," said Brawn.

"His energy and commitment have never wavered, even when results have not matched our own expectations, and we are determined to finish the 2012 season together on a high. As always, it has been a pleasure to work with Michael."

McLaren just got back in my good books this morning. Now hopefully they get rid of the shitty chrome paint and I might actually want them to win again.

The sauber seat has to be a pretty hotly contended one now, its turning into a great car. Will Kamui keep his seat or will there be two vacant? a week ago I wasn't sure but I think with Perez gone he might hang on to it

So will Mac be happy with Hamo taking thje No.1 to Merc? Another bitter pill...though they did teal it with Button off that same Merc team..and talk that Schuey to replace Perez....funny it will be an upgrade based on teams performances this year

no, they just know it won't happen.

no, they just know it won't happen.

Kimi will win :)

I hope.......

But Alonso will probably take it unless Red Bull have sorted their car in which case Vettel is in with a shot as well

But it's looking like Alonso is consistent enough to keep the lead at the moment

Schumacher at Sauber?

seriously dude: just flucking re-retire and save yourself this continual embarrassment

bollocks to that !

shui should take massa\s seat and give the Tifosi there constructors championship !

Hommo's going nowhere. mid field sqabbles etc.

Go Alonzo. catch him if they can.

Watch Buttons car being much better in the last races cause Homo wont get the development bits button does !

Its all down hill for wonderboy who Cheesed the only championship he will ever win !!!

Go Sergio, Rub his nose in it !

Hey CJet

put your toys back in the pram or Top yourself !!

The best young driver has taken Hamos seat !

Hopefully he will learn enough to finally go to ferrari an be the next senna !

Unlike Lewis Who statically is a Nobody After how long ?

Roll on the finally !

Cokey

ummm, have you been watching this guy race since his 'comeback'??

Cokey by name, cokehead by nature

makes Rosberg a complete dud based on this season's results then. Schumacher hasn't finished outside the top 10 this season, despite having started as low as 22nd with a DRS problem in Q at Bahrain. And he's lost his best race positions (P2, P3) to mechanical DNFs. And lost his Monaco pole to a 5 spot grid penalty. but people only see (or remember) what they want to...

Let's see how Token shapes up to Rosberg next season... I don't reckon he'll be terribly impressive. No-one expected Button to have any answers for Hamilton at McLaren either, and look how that turned out. Hamilton hardly dominated him. He's the most over-rated driver in the field.

Schumacher ain't done yet I don't reckon. He's said for some time now that he'd announce his decision in Oct. He's a control freak and would have announced his retirement before Merc signed Hamilton if he was stepping down. He's got something lined up.

Schui and alonso in ferrari would be an interesting match, it is possible. I always thought schui would be part of ferrari management at some stage and what better way than to step into it by one last year alongside alonso.

You have to say, Rosberg looked mighty impressive the past two seasons giving it to Schuey. It does appear with no testing like Schuey was used to it took a long time to get back up to speed. His first season was a sham. Last year there were a few signs...this year he has made two stupid mistakes (FAR WORSE THAN ANYTHING MY BOY ROMAIN HAS DONE :) ) but he has shown his class and been giving it to Rosberg. If only not for that 5 spot penalty at Monaco I have no hesitation in stating that he woudl have got the better of Webber , especially given how the race panned out.

I would love to see Schuey return to Ferrari, even the Sauber would be an upgrade over this years Merc :( Alonos need not fear any driver out there. Schuey would push him which I think is something that he needs to keep motivation up in his 4th year with a team that has not delivered him a car to do the job

Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean will continue to fly the flag for Lotus next season with Eric Boullier revealing his line-up will remain "pretty much the same."
