Timo Glock reckons Marussia owe Michael Schumacher a big thank you if they beat Caterham to tenth place in this year's Constructors' Championship.

Marussia leapfrogged Caterham in the teams' standings when Glock brought his car home in 12th place in the Singapore GP, potentially earning his team millions and help with travel costs.

However, that position seemed to be on the verge of slipping out of Marussia's grasp when, last time out in Abu Dhabi, Heikki Kovalainen was lapping in 12th place in his Caterham with Glock trying but failing to catch up to him.

"I immediately let Michael Schumacher past and hoped that he would crush the Caterham," Glock told Auto Motor und Sport.

"When he was passing Heikki we could breathe again. Michael saved us."

The race finished with Kovalainen 13th and Glock 14th.

Marussia team boss John Booth admitted: "Those of us on the pit wall have pretty chewed nails."

hmmm...

not sure about the Circuit of the Americas yet after some yewtoob vids

could result in good racing, just over a week to find out

Looks like RBR designed that place! They (well, Vettel) will be untouchable.

nothing to post about

Austin is an unknown, no previous years experience to talk about

... I would just like to add that Ferrari are a bunch of faggots though

Alonso is a top bloke and all that, far too good for them, but i wish the actual team nothing but pain and misery

i cant watch it because they don't show f1 in egypt + i only have 2gig to play with on the internet...

so it will have to wait till i get to dubai, if mohammed hasn't block that too that is.

According to reports in the British press, Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore is leading the line to replace Bernie Ecclestone.

At 82 and facing the possibility of a handsome fine and perhaps prosecution for his role in the Gerhard Gribkowsky saga, the F1 supremo may leave his post as president and CEO of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration sooner rather than later.

Should the Briton decide to do so, Scudamore has been touted as a possible replacement with the Daily Mail stating that: "CVC say they are not yet looking for a replacement for Ecclestone but have drawn up a list of those they would approach if Ecclestone is forced to stand down or decided to do so - and Scudamore is said to be one of them.

"Scudamore's stock in the sports industry is high with the Premier League on course to collect £5billion from their global television rights."

However, the paper went on to add that it would take an exceptional offer to pry him away from the Premier League.

daily mail = bullshit?

Alonso is a top bloke and all that

dafuq? when did this happen?

I admire his driving skillz, but that admiration doesn't extend beyond that

Austin is 6am

I'll get ready for work an hour earlier. If Vettel has driven away from everyone by 7am, I'll be out the door at the usual time

dafuq? when did this happen?

I admire his driving skillz, but that admiration doesn't extend beyond that

he'd older and much better than he used to be

i cant hold him accountable for his shitty attitude in his Renault days

he was intolerable back then, but he's one of the more honest and happy guys in the paddock these days

ahhh, holding onto grudges without knowing the whole picture is a little pointless

yes its was a kunts act, but who knows what was happening within the team to spark that kind of internal furor

dont get me wrong, im not cheering for him to win anything with team spaghetti, but i do enjoy watching him race

    • Purchased a NC MX5 a while ago Basic suspension mods done, BC coils and Whiteline sway bars  New DBA calipers, discs and pads Added some 17 x 8 Konig Decagrams with 215/45 17 PS5's Added some typical NA bolt on's, i.e. full exhaust and intake  Added 0.5ltrs with a MZR2.5 swap, nice bump in torques  Found a detachable hard top which is locked in for a colour match with my local paint shop in Feb 25, this also includes some PDR as it has received a few love taps from parking in the local shops when in the hands of my Minister for War and Finances, me, I park nowhere near other cars and typically park on the street The little thing is awesome, I drive it everywhere, it handles like a dream whether I'm up it or just cruising  But now,  because I'm a idiot, I keep looking at turbo kits....... did I mention I'm a idiot Why is dose so appealing  All of the NA 2.5 glory, well.......until sometime in 2025 anyway....🤪
    • I would not be surprised if you are the only person on earth that has the interest/desire to do that lol.  The Haltech base map is a really good starting point, the car will fire easily and drive very well, even on mild boost levels. To me, following your advice sounds like some sort of ancient Chinese water torcher lol (this is not an insult Josh, never change <3)
    • Those car show concepts from the 2000's and 2010's like the Floria and IDx were brilliant and should've gone ahead, at least one of them. But neither Honda nor Nissan are thinking about affordable performance any more, which is truly sad.  Even if Toyota's liquid hydrogen ICE development reaches the point where it's commercially viable and the infrastructure to support it, Honda/Nissan would have to wait until Toyota allow fee access to their patents to offer it with any smaller performance models they released to take advantage of it.
    • A sporty manual RWD coupe with a IL4 Honda engine would only be a good thing I assume we won't see anything released for a few years though, unless informal talks and designs have been going on for a few years,  and due to the current, and future, emmisions and safety requirements, I assume anything "sporty" they would do would be at least some hybrid thingie And hopefully anything they are thinking of has nice lines, without lots of plastic and fake bits hanging off it like that horrendous FK8 that looked like it was designed by a 13 year old The other issue of course in the current market is cost, currently the type R is around $70k, a twin is around $50k Meh, I'm old and grumpy and would rather buy a older model car and waste my coin on that than buying anything currently available new
