R32 '93 Gts-T Auto Question

Sorry if this is a noob question but I failed to find anything related when searching.

I have a 93 R32 gts-t auto which doesn't appear to be shifting correctly from first to second.

On shifting from 2nd to 3rd the engine's powered drops and it quickly shifts, but from first to second the power doesn't seem to drop and revs gradually slide back to match the engine speed and wheel speed. Foot flat to the floor it will hit the limited once or twice, 1st to 2nd, but not 2nd to 3rd, is this normal?

It's slipping. It's worn. It happens. Rebuild/replace or go manual. Of course a fluid change may make it happier for a while. But when mine started doing that it very quickly found itself in the scrap metal bin.
