Hi guys whats involved in replacing the wheel studs at the front, i wont name any names but i had the girl at a few workshops recently

one a suspension place and one for half the 100k service (timing belts, seals)

3 weeks after i had it in for the service im driving on the pacific hway i turn off at burleigh and the the steering wheel starts shuddering im like wtf luckily i pull up outside a mechanic

he drives it and says its wheel bearing we get it back and jack it up and we notice most of wheel nuts are half hanging off! plus one of the studs is snapped off..

ive never had a reason to take wheels off yet so i have no idea how they became loose.

anyway on topic whats involved do i have to take whole hub off?

cheers for any feedback.

you can just knock the stud out the back of the hub.

search on here in the DIY thread Im pretty sure there is a tutorial for it or possibly somewhere else on the forums...

but yeah you can just knock them out, will need a good couple of hits to move it...

just dont do that to studs you want to reuse it'll squash the first few threads...

Use an old wheel nut on the thread for those you want to knock out but keep. That way you are hitting the old wheel nut and not the thread end.
