Did anyone else put these onto an RB30 yet?

Had it running the first time now, let´s see what they can do with stock head and forged bottom end...

The GTX2860R would be the one. U'd need to make sure you get the .64 "compact 5 bolt" turbine housings to suit the GTR twin setup. The biggest problem is making good intake pipes in the tight space but if a decent amount of time is spent, it'll be well worth it.

I'm starting to seriously look at a set of GTX2860's for my project as I was going to go the -5's.

I know it won't be a straight bolt in affair but I have a few ideas on how to make it look stock, using factory airbox, rubber joiners etc which will mean a 60mm inlet (i will keep 60mm AFM's).

Cutting and aluminum welding will need to be done as there is no way I am going to use silicone joiners on the compressor housings. Especially the back one.

I hope to find out if the stock manifolds will also clear the compressor housings.

My car is sitting here with nothing on the hotside, waiting for me to make mind up,its come down to the -5 bolton as i liked the boost response and no compressor surge, or these new gtx2860 turbos, worried about boost response and compressor surge as mine is only std stroke rb26 with glide, can anyone help with this any ideas or thoughts on how they would be..thanks

it wouldn't be that hard to use the existing twin turbo pipe either.

Cut off existing 2 bolt flanges until its around 2", weld on new extension/elbow and use silicone joiners to attach.

Vband welded onto compressor inlet instead of using silicone joiners?

This is what I was thinking.

The inlets, I would get aluminum pipe mandrel bent at the same angle as stockers and accept that it would use a 60-65mm inlet bellmouthed out and welded to the 3 inch shortened compressor snout.

I agree jangles. The v band idea would work well too.

ATP turbo how has a housing that is bolt on to the skyline... Im sure there were be some sort of difference in the 2 housings, If you want the full benefits of the gtx i would stay with the 3" intake with the anti surge, but im gonna try it out and see what happens. I got the 2860gtx. I was gonna get the -5 but I have been talking to ATP and they finally got it done. Like I say I will probably by the gunnie pig but oh well. I can change out the housing if it surges alot or something. But then again im probably not gonna be running big numbers yet and the limit of the 2860-5 seems to be more of the exhaust side than the compressor anyway, so this might be a compromise between the two, or it mike work just fine, we shall see.

Will be interesting to see back to back to back results with their 2bolt housing.

It might be worth welding alloy piping straight to the compressor inlet. To bad you guys are up in Sydney, I would love to have a crack at jigging them up. I imagine the GTX will be a common upgrade once all the parts are available.

As for surge, my GTX3076 is surging a little at light throttle, I assume the surge slots will help avoid compressor damage?

If it's anything like their other "bolt-on" type housing offerings for the RB range... You might be in a spot of bothing going down that route as they never seem to perform :(

I'm not in Sydney, but it doesn't make it any easier haha.

Well ATP called and said the 2860 with the skyline style is delayed. you can get the 2863 and 2867 though. Which works out great cause i just ordered a rips forged RB30 block. Now i have to decide on turbos. I dont want 800whp in a 2600 pound car so im trying to figure out what to order. what do you guys think.

    • The MX5 has had some annoying rattles in both front doors over bumps So I installed fancy pants door bushings, which stopped all of the rattles with the windows up, but........with the windows down there was still rattles, so after some googling,  and a chat with MX5 Mania, I got some new door to glass weather seals, all the rattles, windows up, or down, are gone now Shout out to MX5 Mania, the weather seals were on sale, and when I head to Dural to pick the up they even fitted them for me for free I did see a "really" nice Blue NA sitting out front   and this Black NC PRHT that looked like it has sat in the sun for its whole life and never had a wash, the clear coat was non-existent, an it looked horrible, really horrible, but, it had a nice turbo kit with over 200kw, the thing went like a cut snake, bagging the rears through the gears and dosing like a champ 😍 But, as I've always stated, I am keeping my NC na, I'm happy with the current power the car makes In other news: MX5 Mania do a drive in drive out turbo kit, the only minor additional part recommended for boosting my car, as it sits now, is a oil cooler, and that bonnet vents are definitely required for track use Aftermarket version look a bit to "racecar" spec I wonder how Focus RS bonnet vents would look?????
