The additional 50hp ain´t worth it - but 400rpm sooner RPM on a dyno and a much smoother power transition on the road are worth it.

And your drivetrain won´t be f**ked as hard...

It can be seen on the Dynosheets I posted above, although the boost pressure reading is wrong on the one with the GT2530´s it gives an indication when full boost was achieved (around 4800rpm), compared to around 4400 using the GTX.

I ordered this part number and got turbine housings that would suit a silvia SR...It wasn't the compact rear flange mount, so $660 wasted...

I'm on the hunt again for rear housings...

I got mine delivered in 4 days, don't have part number though as they have been sent to shop.

Well my setup is finally sorted and on the road. Tune will be next after run in.

Can't wait to put some boost into these babies!!!

Can´t wait to see the graph when it´s done :-)

We managed to get 604whp on a Mustang Dyno at 1.7 bar with more ignition timing (about 20 degree, last time on a Superflow we only managed to get around 415whp with 10 degree).

hey gtrsean, any reason why you decided to add flanges to the compressor housings, rather than using silicon couplings?

The rear turbo in particular is the main issue, as the snout of the turbo is basically hard against the dump pipe, and no silicone hose will last there longer that 5 minutes

Damn! So its possible to fit the turbo oem piping with these turbos? are you modified the piping or its the housing?

I was disappoint regarding absolute numbers, but not about the power delivery.

Before the remap we / Steve from FC Tuning did now, there was no fair comparison possible between the HKS GT2530 we had before and the GTX2860R we use now - as the HKS´s were mapped "a bit", but the GTX were not.

To be precisely: about 15 degree ignition timing at 1.35 bar got us more power with the HKS than with the GTX at 1.7 bar and 9 degree.

But the GTX at about 21 degree ignition timing are a whole different story then ;-)

Have you posted your last final-tune sheet? I thought I only saw the first one which was dissapointed.

I'm still wondering myself if I keep the -5 or try to get a little extra from my rb26.

P.S: 20 timing seems a lot!!

It´s in the RB30 hybrid dyno thread ;-)

20 degree is not that much, taking into account that I use 102 octane pump fuel...

If you compare that sheet to the last (disappointing) one I posted, you can clearly see how much later torque etc. is produced - as the dyno did not use it´s eddy-current brake.

So I bet on the Superflow I´d see about 650hp and 550lbft...with 2 bar of boost (so fuel pump issue resolved), 700hp should be no problem!

BTW the car drives absolutely fine on the road! Full throttle in 2nd gear, no traction issues using 265/35R18 Toyo R888 on the rear...in a GTR this would be a dream to drive from the starting line!

I can prove otherwise on my own car. do a bit of clearancing with a die grinder, wrap the dump pipe, done.

Are you ceramic coating the dumps and wrapping them? I know in my case, HPI dumps, the clearance is fark nothing with -5's.

Compressor housings were cut and welded to fit up oem plumbing. It's not as easy as just bolting them in. I got flanges welded onto the compressor outlets, and welded the intake piping onto compressors as well after porting them out.

I wanted stock plumbing, so no silicone joiners and aftermarket plumbing. Heat would be a problem too as blue_vl_t mentioned :).

Instead of buying turbo elbows, just build your own - that way you can maximize size and still gain some space towards the rear turbo :whistling:

Got any pics of those fitted? I doesn't look like you gain that much compared to my tomei dumps

Are the tomei REAL 3 inch dumps? That´s the only one I could find where you can see the custom dump pipes...but it was before the GTX came in.

    • As far as I know, Infiniti stopped importing vehicles before 2020, even though they were still selling their stock for at least a year or 2 after that, they were older build years, therefore, you can import a 2020 400R, because you couldn't buy an AuDM 2020 built Q50 RS. As for insurance, you might need to go through one of the enthusiast insurance companies, they tend to insure a lot more grey import models than the mainstream insurers as Duncan mentioned.

    • So.... when I'm finally getting around to having my power steering leak sorted, now it looks like I've got the same issue most A/T Skylines are having. My A/T light will randomly come on and I'm stuck in 3rd gear until I turn the car off and on again. Only 3 weeks ago I did a complete transmission service: Oil flush + new gasket + new filter. This came out of nowhere!! It wasn't like the car was driven hard. I drove about 3 mins down the road to get fuel and boom!!!  Anyway, I have a few questions and hope you fine people can help me out here. All questions are in red. 1. The solenoids: I was looking at the parts catalogue in Amayama and I could only find the Solenoids as an assembly. https://www.amayama.com/en/part/nissan/319404ax05 I read in another thread that Solenoid A = 31940-4AX02 & Solenoid B = 31940-4AX05 but the Amayama product has only the code of B. Is this the right part? Can anyone who has done the Solenoid changes or seen them confirm if this is the complete set of A & B?   2. Gasket and Filter: I'm not going to try change the solenoids myself because it seems difficult to do in a home garage with just 2 jack stands. I plan to take it to a shop and get it changed. I was also going to buy the transmission sump gasket at the same time so I don't reuse the same gasket. Should I just use the existing gasket as it has only been on the car since OCT 19th? (~3 weeks) Should I be buying a brand-new gasket and a filter? Does this job involve taking the filter out?   Thanks in advance to everyone. It's hard to find a video of someone doing a solenoid change on a R34 so any help you can give answering my remaining questions would make me less stressed.
    • Yea - From what I have seen from the video, the car idles like any R34 lol 50PSI of fuel pressure is hardly super abnormal, the regulator is working because the pressure remains static when the throttle gets revved, i.e pressure remains the same when manifold vaccuum changes. Bigger pumps on stock rails always bumped the pressure in the rail without using an aftermarket regulator to change that. Do you know what your IAC is actually doing? Has there been any data showing the stepper motor % etc? There's no way your idle is actually moving around the way the cluster(s) are indicating. You would hear the difference with the engine RPM flying to 3k and 1k in mere seconds. I'd be checking the wiring to the tacho. What the tacho is telling you and what the engine/ecu is telling you are different things. I assume your ECU doesn't display the spike. So whatever is telling the tacho to be at X rpm is doing something weird. When the going gets insane, you're on the wrong path. You've ruled out plenty of things that are working correctly/aren't the issue. Your idle isn't doing what the tacho is indicating. You have two seperate issues, I don't think they are linked, and the idle seems reasonably okay unless it's stalling which.. well, it hasn't. Troubleshoot the stall if it occurs by figuring out what your IAC is doing vs what it is being told to do.
