New results from a fellowzedder with gtx2863's. First graph was previous. 2nd graph are the new initial dyno results.

Snapped intake cam (twice now) so he changed out all 4 cams for stock exhaust cams (solid, no VTC anymore). New mufflers also and even bigger throttle bodies (58mm to 62mm).

A bit of a zombie thread bump but I seen these turbos being shown by Spectrum Motorsports Solutions here in Canada and though they were interesting. How much of a difference will having anti surge housing make vs just standard housings

The surge slot is not there to improve performance. It is because GTX28 comp wheel will bend its shaft in solid housings, the surge slot is made preventing that problem. It looks like a T51R style sort of a insert, should make some induction noises.

Anyway, Result from an earlier highflow we did. Red line is with solid housing, and blue is with antisurge slot. From a S15, internally gated on E85 fuel

Any thoughts on the 42R compressor map they have? Seems pretty average to me but I haven't done a detailed comparison against others.

Um....no? That's just twin scroll single turbo, isn't it?

BMW in classic fashion decided that TwinPower could either mean a single twin scroll turbo or two turbos. I still have yet to figure out why they bother with twin turbos on the M3 when it seems obvious to just slap a bigger single turbo on the B58 and call it an S58.

Nah, they actually use both words, in both orders, to mean two different things. One order means twin turbo, the other means twin scroll single. They is classically f**ked over by marketeers. Engineers would tell them to go f**k themselves if they had the balls and the corporate power hadn't been usurped by the business school grads.

twin turbos on the M3

Because it sounds cool on paper but in reality sounds aids (literally), a M3 with an exhaust sounds horrible. Kind of a reminds me of a stock turbo R32-34 with a loud exhaust, just sounds dreadful.

The F80 even stock sounds awful even compared to an RB26. I don’t know how but BMW figured out the ideal exhaust setup to make that engine sound as terrible as possible.
