Jon...

I only timed my second session... I managed a 1:59, and I was taking *all* the wrong lines... turning in way too early on turns 2, 5, and 7...

I went out with Paul, and he showed me the proper lines... I went out for the last session, and even though I was held up on *every single lap*, I felt that I was going much MUCH faster... doing at least 1:57s...

I pitted at the end of the session and excitedly reached over for the lap timer, and I saw it's screen was off....

F U C K! I forgot to turn it on :D

Oh well, so the best timed lap I got was 1:59, but I know I did much much better than that in the last session. I'll have to prove it next time ;)

Anyway... 1:59 for the first time at EC isn't too shabby.

1:57-59 is very fast especially if its ur first time at ec... i managed to get 2:05... its my first time ever on any track so yeah hope i will improve on this next time ;)

do u remember overtaking me at one session?? i remember daniel (the blue station wagon wrx guy in group A) saying , "i like his lines, can u follow him??? " watching u taking corners... can't remember the no of corner... do u remember when this was? was this b4 u learnt lines or after ??

ur car looks darn sexy mate... congrat on ur purchase once again... :D

I wasn't running full boost because I had Optimax in the tank, and my car always pings when I use Optimax ;) I'll make sure I have a full tank of Mobil or BP next time, so I can regain those 50rwkw I lost by turning the boost down :D

I'm not sure what session it was when you were following my lines... I have done a lot of trackdays, so I know basically what lines to take, but to get them 100%, it only comes from lots and lots of laps, which Paul (Oz97GTR) has, so he was able to show me the optimal lines to take for the track.

I was basically turning in too early, and apexing a little early, which slowed my exit speeds... During the last session when I was driving the correct lines, I was held up on every single lap, so it was possible that you were able to follow my lines, as I was going quite slowly...

I'll take you out for a few laps next time, or hop in with Paul who knows the track like the back of his hand... Your lap times will drop dramatically...

I do remember coming down the straight one time, and I couldn't catch you... I was thinking "DAMMIT!!! I NEED TO TURN UP MY BOOST NOW!!!!" :D

My car was dynoed at 275.8rwkw @ 1.2 bar on SAS Dyno... (I was running 0.8 bar on the track) Your car made around that at all 4 wheels right? Or even more than that if I remember correctly...

hahaha, andrew, i wish mate!!! my car was dynoed on 2wheel dyno, so that 376hp was at the rear like i stated honestly in the post way back... (don't make me look like a big horsepower bullsh1t artist... haha :D ) mine was at 1.2 bar as well... so thats about 280rwkw right???

but the thing is john from unique took my car for a drive , and he said there is noooooo bloody way that my car has 280rwkw... he reckons about 220... i was kinda dissapointed but oh well... ^^

see u at the track mate!!~!~!

hahaha... sorry mate... my bad ;)

Yeah, 220-230kw @ wheels would probably make more sense for the mods that have been done to the car... Would make sense too, as we were about the same down the straight, and I was running 0.8 bar, so I would have been at about 220rwkw...

If you take the M2 there's a BP with Ultimate 98 just after it ends in Seven Hills. Only 5 or 6 km to E/Creek from there. Saves having to use Optimax.

i've nvr been on eastern creek once but i'm keen since it's during my uni break... i was actually planning to head down to wakefield on either of 1/2/3 oct as these are open days... i've heard eastern creek is a higher speed track relative to wakefield? i'm a novice so that is a bit of a concern doing high speeds...

Go out on Wakefield first as it's an easier and more user friendly track. Then come out to EC and one of the regular guys can show you around. If you are confident, then you can get out.

When you are new to any track, don't go out there with an attitude of "I have to be faster than this guy". That'll put you in a dangerous situation.

Looks like I'll be doing the calling to Motoconcepts for spots. I need certain numbers people.

Doesn't look like a lot this time. What's wrong? This the last drive day until 19th of December people...

    • Excuse me for butting in....but which part of ADHD can be considered a superpower? I would have though it far more likely that some ASD comorbidity is more likely to be contributing to an ability to hyperfocus on something. ADHD being aimed somewhat in the other direction. My shed looks like your shed. My whiteboard list of unfinished projects has entries going back 15 years. I know what you're talking about - I just struggle to connect ADHD to the results being discussed.
    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
