I planned to put a 3076 on my rb25 with a high mount setup on my car, however it all started to add up price super quick. Have realised i dont want to spend to much more on my car :P if possible.....

Now i am thinking of going one of hypergears turbos, either the ATR43G3 or ATR43ss

I would like 300rwkw on the stock manifolds, and would like to use a dual stage for street use of around a bar, or whatever gets 250rwkw.

My question is what turbo? the more power (around 300) on lower boost would be more reliable?

if so i would be better off to go a ATR43G3? has anyone had any actual experience with these?

Would be nice to just be able to bolt it on, same water lines, comes with oil feed and spacer plate. also exhaust bolts straight up to standard for $1480 shipped

My supporting mods include Haltech e11v2, bosch 044 and surge tank, full 3" decent clutch etc.

Also what injectors?

i know 550cc will get you 300rwkw but as it is my daily i want the best fuel economy i can get,

my tuner said he tuned an rb25 with simmens 600cc injectors (i think ) and it was getting crap fuel econ. He put in ID 1000ccs and got 2km per litre better economy? 60 litre tank = 120km each tank more!

For you guys with around 550s and a 3076 size turbo what economy do you get?

or would i be better off spending 1k for ID 725cc injectors and a rail to suit for good fuel economy.

Any help much appreciated :)

I think the SS series of Hypgergear turbos are the best, their response is significantly better imo. For that power level I would choose the SS2. People have made 300rwkw using the SS2 on 98 fuel on around 20psi. I personally wouldnt choose the ATR43G3 on a standard rb25 as it doesnt have the best response.

Its not the injector size that gets you better fuel consumption but the spray pattern I believe. If its not a neo then you can use nismo 740cc injectors which are very popular.

First of all , make your mind up whether you want 300rwk or 250rwk , don't waste your time with changing boost pressure , you can do that with your foot (if the haltech can , drop your rev limiter down if you don't trust yourself) , second , the way my tuner explained injectors to me is vaguely : for fuel economy and better tune spend the $$ on decent proven injectors with a good spray pattern , they will pay for themselves in the amount of fuel they save compared to buying bad quality ones :)

I have a Garrett GTX3071 on my standard manifold and have 850cc Power enterprise injectors making 288rwkw on bout 21psi and i get bout 450km out of a tank of juice but my car isnt a daily drive so when i get in it i generally head for the hills for some spirited driving :nyaanyaa:

My last tune when my nistune was installed with the standard turbo made 203kw on 12psi and my fuel economy was almost 100km worse on a tank of juice than it is now with 85kw less!:blink: So i guess the tune has alot to do with fuel economy also mate :thumbsup:

So what sort of spray pattern should an injector have to return good fuel economy??? Can someone explain? I was thinking of getting siemens deka 60lb top feed high impedence (EV1)injectors for my R34 NEO from ebay $279 for the lot which is darn cheap! What sort of spray pattern do these have and are they 'inefficient (fuel economy wise) injectors' seeing as they are cheap??pinch.gif

Well i may as well go for 300rwkw, he has just dynod a turbo that made 325rwkw on 20psi I think, and 200rpm response better than the g3 I'll look into it a bit more...

Mick_o, that's good! That's more than my car gets now standard haha, what kind of response do you get with the gtx3071? standard motor? What about inlet manifold?

What would be the most pressure you can run with the standard motor/inlet manifold? Think my tuner said he has had to put a fair bit more fuel in certain cylinders with the standard inlet manifold above 19psi.

The guy from hypertech dosent use an adj. Exhaust cam gear either so maybe I cam get a little better spool rate there :)

May as well get the id725 cc injectors, more room to grow anyways and apparently really good on fuel.

Also Harey, the ss2 does look good :)

If you have a look at the rb25 dyno threads he put the new turbos dyno sheet up there, it looks like a good compromise between the two.

What kind of response have you seen between the two?

And yeah the Id injectors are supposed to have a very good spray pattern,

+1 for the 2835 pro s, mine is running 280kw @18psi and very responsive (with other supporting mods such as cam gears etc)

With nismo 555 injectors and a tune ever so slightly on the rich side I'm still getting around 430-450 k's out of a tank.

FWIW ~280kw makes for a dam fast street car especially a well setup gtst

I was surprised by my fuel economy but my car was tuned by yavus at unigroup and hes the go to man! Lol my motor is completly stock other than the go fast bits i see full boost in 2nd gear bout 3800-4000 3rd gear is prob 3500ish ive had near 27psi into my car few times briefly with no probs! Im thinking bout scrapping the nistune for a link G4 ecu and an E85 tune and 25psi + boost real soon :-)

While the HKS 2835 is a GREAT turbo it's not exactly cheap. If it was even remotely cheap I'd have one myself.

I woulda been waving that flag too but it didnt exist when i was in the market for a turbo :-( still happy with the garrett response probably isnt as good but when its on it still kicks ya up the ass! Haha

This is very true, one big bonus is you get everything needed to make it a true bolt on.

But I do agree you are paying extra for the hks tag, but you forget about it when you push down the right foot :)
