hey guys

i went to my mechanic yesterday, we were testing the car for an electrical problem, as my car battery was dieing after a couple days without driving, during the test the mechanic pulled out a few fuses, did sum stuff in the engine bay and in the boot, we couldnt find the problem, however after all that when we re started the car,

the hi cas light was on, and the power steering was gone, i left it with the mechanic over night, and today he was still looking for the problem?

any ideas guys?

R33s do get a bit of HICAS trouble when the battery voltage gets low. Have you actually got a decent battery and charge voltage at this point in time, or is it still crap? If crap, swap in a decent battery and see if the light magically goes away. Otherwise, put the HICAS controller into diagnostic mode and look to see if it's got a faulty sensor, low fluid level, etc etc. Also, this may not be the same in R33s as in R32s (which is where I experienced it) but there can be a fault develop where a short in the loom (in my case from burning the power supply wire to the heater in the oxygen sensor) takes out the wiring for the power steering, and results in no assistance. You may need to look deeper into it to find this sort of problem.
