Biggest load of cow shit! Cost of living goes up and yet our pay stays the same. I have paid over $700 in the last month just so i can keep on driving, court, fines and re issuing my licence. Seriously these dream boats will keep on jacking up the way we live our lifes until it sends our country into a melt down and f**ks them over.

yeah we are in wage negotiations atm my boss claims they can only afford a 3.75% wage increase yet over the last 2 weeks since the 1st December the 2 grout blenders have produced over 122 tonne of grout and thats only 1 brand we make 2 brands :/

i was feeling a comment like rbjetts would come along

that is 100% true

dont break the law and you wont get fined etc

but this is about BLATANT REVENUE RAISING

nothing has happened to make them all of a sudden increase in the amount of fines

The average residential water bill will increase by 40.3 per cent, from $469.60 to $658.70, to pay for the Government's desalination plant.

an increase of 200$?

ohh ok so maybe people earning like 800 a week bang instead of $350 cash to pay for expenses they will have $150? what if they have 3-4-5 kids? they will suffer that is B******T

and who cares about this stupid desal plant? I DONT

im just gonna stop because i will write every single possible swear word if i continue

that being said

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS STATE

The point to point speed cameras they were talking about earlier in the year were going to be on the main highways in/out of the state, so areas where you have nice long unbroken sections of road. Dukes Highway, Barrier Highway, etc. Not on North Terrace.

They do already use them in VIC and I think NSW? Just be thankful that SA hasn't implemented the red light/speed cameras with the same gusto that NSW took it up with in the last two years. I went back recently and damn, in some parts, people were driving like South Australians... But there are point to point cameras on the highways in to Melbourne.

The tram extension is awesome. 10 mins walk and then I have a free trip into town. No hassles with trying to find parking or having to deal with the traffic. Also, they did spend the money on the roads as well, remember what Port Road/North Terrance and those intersections used to be like before they fixed them up? It's now probably the smoothest section of road in the state. :S

The tram extension - extension plans however... exercise in stupidity. They want to link it from the entertainment centre cross Port Road and then run them on the train tracks out to Port Adelaide/Westlakes... now that's exactly duplicating a service, whilst putting another crossing on Port Road, *and* not taking advantage of the best thing about light rail, in that you can run it where people want to go. It should go down Port Road or Grange Road, do something for those suburbs & shopping centres with no rail transportation. Or head out to the beach along Grange, then down to Glenelg and you'd have a nice tram loop. /train rant...

how do you think there going to pay for the pollies raises without the increased revenue. other states are being hit as well

dont even get me started on australia and the amount of rules that vary so much depending on who you are or where your at in the country, or about engineering a car mod. another money maker that doesnt hold much water in SA

the little section between crafers on ramp and stirling off ramp has a set of cameras

that capture every license plate that goes past

it will capture unregistered cars

and measures truck speed to murray bridge or something rather

They have also recently decided to drop country speed limits from 110 to 100 or less. Down where I live most roads in and out were all 100-110 but in the last 4-5 years they have all been heavily reduced and them heavily policed. The latest two roads they have done in my area have been 110 for ever and are open main roads linking freeways and towns and have barely had a crash let alone a fatal accident in all the years iv lived here. They have now dropped it to 100 and the funny thing is sapol have now turned their resources to patrolling these roads heavily in pursuit of speeding fines.

I don't know how they can justify the huge fine/rates/etc etc increases when the cost of living is so high. Why the sudden need to drop all the speed limits---they've been fine all this time. At the end of the day the serious speed offenders- the supposedly ones that do outrageos speeds and risk lives- they are still going to do that if it's 100 or 110.

Our government has gone Over the top in many ways IMO!

^^^ agree 100%. I went on a country run yesterday around Stockport, Mallala, Parham and back through Two Wells - most roads were recently changed 100 limit - I have never seen an accident out there on those roads - they are pretty straight and quite safe. And like you said the d!ckheads who cause or are involved in most accidents won't obey the new speed limits anyhow.

And you'll notice that they NEVER mention that there are more than triple the number of cars on the road now vs 30 years ago, yet the number of fatailities has actually DROPPED in that time. Problem, my arse.

They also don't mention that the vast majority of fatalities are 1. single car accidents (ie. in the country hitting a tree), and/or 2. the vast majority involve drugs/alcohol and most times the occupants weren't wearing setabelts. If you are stupid enough to do those things, then you are going to crash and die no matter what the speed limit is. Yet the rest of us suffer.

but yet, the roads into aldinga need to be lowered to 80k because of the potholes and rollercoaster bumps. from seaford to dinga is like someone carpet bombed the road !!!

still get trucks tailgating me at 100 within a metre of my rear end, or others overloaded and barely able to get up to 40k in 100 zone on south rd. every day I drive that road I see unsafe driving in a big way , report it , why they dont do anything about it.

or aldinga beach road they paved to within 3 blocks of the beach after 10 years of crazy holes in it, just left the shite bit at the end as a reminder I guess ? it will impress the tour down under people next month. it would stuff a bike rim easy.

just opened my power bill, merry farking christmas to me, water bill should be next week , yeah!!! go DESAL.... how about storing the water from rain instead you muppets. you get a lot of rain here compared to spots in usa who have water storage !!!!

I guess it could be worse, a bankrupt country ?

Drive the south eastern freeway and most times I sit on 110 and I'm constantly overtaken by speeding motorists. I don't consider it unsafe as it's a highway with plenty of visibility and two lanes. Same as the country- open roads where u can realistically sit on 130-140 and not have to hit the brakes once and cruise comfortably--100 seems so slow on these and also adds time to each trip- commuting from the hills to adelaide is slow as it is with all the developments happening and each of the multiple speed reductions on the way to the city has easily added 10 mins to the drive in.

I'm all for safer roads and less fatalitys but I don't see how the huge increases in rates and fines $$ is going to help reduce them. Every year we have more motorists and more congested traffic and yet the fatality rate is much the same or less each year. I'd be very interested to know stats on percentage due to speeding and hooning-- and how many are just accidents that happen. Iv been told the elderly are one of the major causes of accidents above the under 25 bracket-can't prove it with a stat but that's what iv been informed.

Yet the rest of us suffer.

exactly, if you look at the actual stats, fatalities caused directly by speed make up less than a 1/4 of the road toll

just opened my power bill, merry farking christmas to me,

Haha - you should try on my last power bill - $2,400 for the QUARTER. Yes, you read right. But you get that with a big house with a 12kw reverse cycle a/c running almost 24 hours a day, many plasma/tvs on all day, home office with at least 2 pcs running all day, outdoor electric spa ..... I should own my own power company.
