Comp map? Not yet. It's going on my R33 gtst daily driver/no track or circuit use. I've got a Bosch 910 but may end up selling it for a 040. Also getting 550cc injectors at least, fuel reg and haltech e6x.

I'm told it's internal gated, and with a t3 flange, can be bolted on to my stock manifold.

Steve, what do you think? I'm chasing 350rwhp (preferably 380rwhp) and don't mind some lag.

You've done heaps more than that, do you think I should get cams?

Also, my car is an auto (i know!!!!!) so will the transmission survive?

Cheers

Hmm, well it should be ok, 380rwhp is around 460ish bhp. I am thinking you will have a bit of lag, like I said, without a compressor map, its difficult to say.

Where were you hoping for 1bar of boost to be made - with that turbo I would be thinking it may be over 4000rpm.

For the street, it may be a bit on the big side, depends on how you like to drive really - but only way to know for sure is bolt it on:) From there, you may need to look at doing a few other things, like upgrade exhaust, exh cam gear, exhaust cam, etc to get the response you need. I have also found a front facing plenum increases off boost response too. When I first fitted my 3037 with a 0.87 exh housing it didnt make 1 bar until over 5000rpm - I then went through and changed a few things until now it makes 1.2bar at 4000rpm.

The thing with bigger turbos is that the rest of the systems can need some massaging to get the best out of them. Without a compressor map, it is a bit of hit and miss unfortuneatley, but unless you buy a package from somewhere like HKS, thats pretty much the always the case.

Bottom line, slap it on, see how it goes, then upgrade any other bits that you suspect may be holding things back, if necessary. And make sure you post up the results.

I really dont know about the trans, sorry - never played with the auto in a skyline.

Steve, I've already got the big bore decatted exhaust, pod and CAI and a HKS Gt cooler (600x300x100mm). I think I probly will get the ex cams after I put everything on.

I'm not sure the turbo place will give me a comp map, but they seem to be very well-versed with turbos and have even got the Schenk tingamajig that GCG and all the good turbo places over there in Aussie has.

They also stand by their turbo and are backing it up with a flexible warranty (they're happy to mix n match n stuff if it doesn't work for me)

I actually don't mind lag that much, and 1 bar over 4000rpm would be fine. I actually do most of my commuting below 3000rpm, and only go into boost when I'm in a clear stretch of hiway here in KL.

Jebu, I plan to go to TC Kee at Links Racing after I have all my stuff ready. (It'll probably take me close to a year to save up for all of the things but that's ok :) ) I've met the guy and been to his shop and IMHO, he's one of the best tuners here in KL. Real decent too, double checked the prices that he's quoted and it all adds up. No BS there.

I just picked up a 910 pump today but may end up selling it to get a 040.

Hey Jebu, what's your ride? Which workshop do you go to?

Hi gobiz, good choice. Links is currently one of the foremost skyline tuners in KL.

They tune the white GTR33 that won the sepang drag race last month.

A bit on the pricey side though but they're pretty good.

I dun have any fancy electronics in my car so I just go to a mechanic in Puchong. He's quite experienced with Rb's but a bit old skool hehe.

I currently drive an R32 with an RB25DET engine. Converted about 2 years ago.

I have recently closed the deal to sell my car though :)

Planning to get a newer skyline but maybe only sometime next year.

Anyway if PM me your number if you'd like to meet up sometime...

we have a small group of nissan guys who go out driving and hang out most weekends (silvias,GTRs the like..)

anyway if you're not on the Malaysian GTR forum yet here's the link to join:
