hey everyone.

first up i have a 1993 r33 gts automatic.

i was driving around today and noticed that when the revs got above 4000 rpm there was a large hissing noise similar to the sound of a turbo spooling up although the car is an NA. the car was also much quiter than usual. the next thing i noticed was when i was traveling up a hill it lack power. the engine was reving a 5000 rpm maybe more but i was loosing speed. my foot was flat to the floor at this time... i travel this road often and never had this problem before. then about 10 km down the road after slowing down to around 80km/h after getting stuck behind a caravan i had a chance to overtake. i put my foot down and the car reved to 6500 then dropped off to about 4000 before very slowly increasing speed.

any sugestions would be great

i'd hazard a guess that it's a transmission issue. could just be that it's low on fluid (check the auto trans dipstick), or the box is on it's way out. if you check the fluid level and it's fine, then the next stop would be an automatic transmission workshop.
