Help Setting Up Timing With A Timing Light

hey fellas im having a few issues....

for one my car is idleing high 1500 rpm (not surging nor stalling...)

and 2 the timing is all poo poo... what degree should the crank angle sensor be put at with a timing light ? (stock rb20det)

help help

currently sitting on 13*btdc

U need to get th idle correct before setting base timing.

Have u tried adjusting the idle screw located on back of inlet manifold?

Check the throttle cable isnt to tight

do the 20s even have a idle screw on the back.... i was under the assumption they dont

Its on the idle air control valve. Its a phillips screw.

Have a look from the brake master cylinder towards the back of the engine and u will see it

It's the AAC - Auxilliary Air Control valve.

It may also be the TPS out of adjustment and not giving the ECU the "throttle closed" signal.
