Citylink Tool Roads - Does It Charge 24 Hours?

Hi fellas,

I have a work car with an E-Tag installed, but for some odd reason I went to 24 Kmart today in Campellfield and took the CityLink near Flemington Road and when I got onto the CityLink and passed the toll point it didn't beep and also didn't beep on the way back. It was roughly 11pm when I had traveled on the toll road but was wondering if it does not charge towards midnight or something? This is the first time I've traveled on it this late at night.

What is your experience on this?

Charges 24H no beep prob means tag flat!

If the car is registered to the E-tag, which it should be, and there is an issue with the tag or it's mounted incorrectly, the cameras will pick up the numberplates of the car and you'll be charged a no-tag admin fee which is like $2 or something. If it happens again then you probably have an issue with the tag and should ask them for a replacement. If not, then faulty/off tower probably.

Nuh will be fine. My tag stopped beeping for a few trips. Don't know why. They just took it from my account anyways. Its a new tag. Didn't get any extra fees

"NO Beep - Call 1800 XXX XXX"

I found that travelling at 100k could drown out the beep on that section of tollway.

I had a tag that never beeped from new, it still billed me

I did just request a new tag and got one for free via the breeze website

If your eTag doesn't beep, they charge you a 75c lookup fee.

I had an issue with one of my tags recently and it would never beep at one specific toll point..

Citylink called me to confirm if i was using an etag as i had alot of admin fee's on my account.

They were extreemly helpful sent me out a replacement tag and reimbursed my admin fees as it was due to a fault with the tag.

So just give them a call

Yes you are right - FYI - I rang CityLink and they said the same thing...they're going through some upgrading issues so some tolls are not charging...but they said if need be they will just extract the fees from my account so no sweat.
